Are you trying to tell me I'm making stuff up?

I wanna make sure that's clear before we proceed. Because all I've said was that a mediocre tight end/better personality isn't the be all end all of commentating.

Not you. A few posts back, tr1 said he doubts that we have dumbed anything down. The HC has already told us he dumbed down the offense last week for Robert.

Here was Chris Cooley's response:

“At this point in the game, our coaching staff came up with the conclusion, now we will run simple, Day-One offense,” Cooley said. “This is all we can do. We have eliminated the game plan. We’ve [gone] back to Day One of training camp install.”

Seems to be the motto around here.

I defy anyone to produce evidence that the call to keep Haslett came from Allen, or Snyder.
To constantly repeat a rumor, simply because you wish to believe it, shows less intelligence than the actual act of keeping Haslett.
Chew on that boys and girls.

I went from 0 to 60 awfully fast in your example. In your scenario, if Allen says that, I tell him I would prefer to have my own people in place, which (as Ax is alluding to) is probably what he said. Which means that Haz, on some level, was someone Gruden wanted. Which scares me.

This is why Cooley is on the radio and not a coach. Coaches have a lot of responsibility and have to make tough decisions. Coaches don't give up and say "Well, I don't know what to do." Coaches figure out what to do and do it.

There are a lot of people who can see what is going on. There are people who can break plays down for regular folks like us. (Although some on here are clearly Vince Lombardi reincarnated). Cooley does a great job at that. But the bottom line is he is not responsible for anything on this team. He can lay it out there how HE sees it, and then just go back on the radio. Coaches have responsibility none of us have. And the best coaching minds get jobs to implement their ideas.

Maybe he just doesn't want to coach.
Maybe he's just like Joe Gibbs, and he's Hall Of Fame coaching material, but just has no desire to coach at this juncture.
Either way, whether he's a coach or not, he knows more about what he's talking about, than every single one of us
 
I don't remember him getting a bunch of calls or offers to coach.

He doesn't know more about being a quarterback than anyone else does. He knows what he sees and hears and speaks it just like us.
 
Yeah but he's also seen it from an angle that none of us have ever seen. He's sat in film study rooms watching the coach break down the mechanics and expectations of qbs on a pro level. He's spend his whole life playing the game and done it well enough that he played in the NFL for 9 years (in reality 7, the last 2 were poopoo). He has a better understanding of football then most. Is his word, bond? Nope. But I do have to say there is some merit to his analysis.

Who knows? Neither one of them were successful to ANY extend at the NFL level... Cooley, while it might not be HOF numbers, was established, and was exposed to those types of analysis for a consistent 7 years. He's going to see things that lead me to believe he knows what he's looking at. I'm not trying to fight with you, but I do listen to Cooley on my way home every day and he's very football savvy from what I can tell. He knows what he's seeing. Again, nothing he says should be taken as the answer, but I'm not going to discount it either, when he's saying the same thing that all the big name analysts, as well as the Redskins head coach are saying.
 
I'm not discounting either, but he's not the be all end all like being suggested by his quotes in here constantly.

Throw in Scott Campbell too. I'm sure Gruden was praying to retain Campbell. See how that works?

It's much more likely that our "he's taking control GM" chose both.

Most of the local writers that I follow thought that Griffin did exactly as he should have after the past few days.

JReid was an exception.
