Random Commanders Thoughts

Actually, it is believed to be about $18.2 million to $18.6 million. And yeah, we aren't going to pay that amount as things stand now.

$19 million is the reported cost to pick up the 5th year option on RG3.

I don't know if McCoy is worth rolling with for a.season or two while we build the lines, or if we pick up a guy like Hoyer.

Or draft one this offseason.

If I'm not mistaken next year will be his fourth year.

I'm not sure if you knew that or just want him gone so badly you're time traveling.

Hoyer? My gosh..

You want to draft a starting-caliber QB? Are you out of your mind? Fix the OL. Fix the secondary. Fix the Special Teams. Then worry about an effing QB. And I'll also throw in there, the bigger question is whether Jay Gruden can cut it as an NFL head coach. He talks the talk, but I see no evidence he's got what it takes to build a winning team, not yet.

Why, because some internet putz says so... Some TV talkin head...

Who will the fans be chanting for in the stadium once McCoy flops like he has everywhere else ?

McCoy... really ?

McCoy, Cousins, Jameis or a Hoyer. Take your pick.

Then that's a McCoy, Cousins or Hoyer unless RG3 improves rapidly.

Joe Montana could not consistently impress or win games with the support our QBs are getting. Be it play calling, protection, WR play, or anything else.

I will just say that I think QB may be an issue, but there are far more pressing issues...including quality of coaching all the way to the top.

It wouldn't be if we weren't trying to make the option QB we drafted play conventionally. What happened to fitting the system to the player, not the other way around.

we all expected better cuz the receiving corps seemed top flight and the pass rush was thought to have improved. reality has set in: we need a big time safety and there is rebuilding to be done on both lines.

I did hear a disturbing story on the radio post game: to wit that Allen makes the calls down to the field on when to drop the red flag. say what?!!!!!

Once again...it may be the case that the FO needs yet more tweaking. this team remains dysfunctional.

The scapegoat that Griffin is with this team is amazing...even for this team who loves blaming their quarterbacks for everything.

Griffin is professional
He does what is asked
He's learning
He accepts responsibility
He gives credit

Everything that has been asked of him he's done. But somehow Mccoy or now Hoyer is better. Who's going to be the first to bring up Winston?

I thought when we drafted Griffin we would be done with wondering who our QB will be...... 6-20 in our last 26 games, that is a hard pill to swallow

Moses
Luavu
Lichtenstein
Chester
Compton

Who on that line would start for any other team?

If anyone wants to evaluate McCoy, he has two years of tape from his days in Cleveland. This is the time to play Griffin and evaluate him. Whatever the cost of the option after next year, or signing an extension, you have to let him play and see what he can do. His best is light years better than anyone else on this team. If today was his worst, it's still not as bad as what we saw from Cousins. As for McCoy, you can go back and look at his worst from Cleveland. It's up to these coaches to see if they can get the best out of him, and the rest of the season is a good time to find that out.

I agree.

RGIII does hold onto the ball too long. but that is fixable. the kid hasn't played all that much (IMO last season was a total wash-out from beginning to end). per the norm in DC he is learning a new system. Great QBs just don't come along all that often. We need to figure out what we have w/Robert and decide if a championship team can be built around him (and not requiring him to be one of the greats). if not...well then.....we can spend another 20+ years and innumerable 1st round picks looking.

right now...I see only two great QBs in the NFL: Peyton Manning and Tom Brady.

So the fans will root for McCoy after he flops ? Holy shit, if that's the case, they might actually root for the other FAILED Qb's you'd like to bring in.

So it's flavor of the week for you from here on out I'm guessing...

I said it in chat, all we are going to have from this point on is drama, drama, drama. The media is already pushing it, fans are already pushing it, twitter is already pushing it. It is going to go on, and on, and on, and on...

We're a bad team. It doesn't really have to be anyone's 'fault'. It's where we are.

Everything in the world of sports last weekend - I hated.

Nearly everything in the world of sports this weekend - I hated.

The only thing I can do tomorrow is wake up and go about my day.

Sad part - now I want to lose out for good draft positions. Bah.

Abba reinterpreted (not that I ever listened to them): "We are the drama queens"

let's use the rest of the season to figure out who wants to play and can play. clear out the rest. shoot for 8-8 next season...and play-off runs after that.

sorry all. as some know....after a loss I would visit this board with one mindset: slash and burn.

now...all I can do is smile & keep my mind/emotions focused on other things and wait for the turn-around. it has to come knocking on our door eventually. let's just hope this isn't a wait of Red Soxian or Cubian dimensions!!!!
