Random Commanders Thoughts

I read a Gruden quote somewhere that Moss is the backup punt returner.
If that's the case, why not go ahead and insert him now, since Roberts has been a fail.
Let's get some use out of Moss, while he still has some mileage left, and while he's takin up a roster spot, and a gameday active spot, and gettin a paycheck

Psssst. Its not the punt RETURNER

could be. but I do know this....until Murphy makes it....he's accomplished less than rak. there are obviously players who have earned their pro bowl spots - Sean Taylor comes to mind. anywho, your point is valid in many instances no doubt about it. I'm just asserting that while Rak hasn't scaled the highest heights....he is no slouch and we will...IMO.....be disappointed if we believe anyone on the current roster will be better or comparable. the argument about too much money shouldn't be ignored. it's just my belief that on a defense with problems.....Rak's disappearing will simply create one more hole we will spend several years attempting to patch.

You're right, Rak is no slouch, but comparing Murphy's accomplishments to what Rak has done is comparing apples to tennis balls.... What did Rak accomplish in his first 50 some odd snaps, because that about what Murph has under his belt thus far playing OLB. You've already given up on a rookie that hasn't even played a full game as a starter. A guy said to have a real mean streak on the field, who seems smart enough to change his approach during the game (see Seattle game), and looks to be able to give us at least what we get out of Rak, and likely more. Hatcher should have made a difference for our OLB's. Seems to have worked for Kerrigan, but Rak still wasn't getting it done.

Yep. The old 'overall' scale.)

Meanwhile, in scoring ...

18th Offense (21.6/game)
24th Defense (26.1/game)

Simply saying it's the coverage units.

No man, that's definitely not what he said :

On the decision to activate wide receiver Santana Moss instead of Aldrick Robinson:

“Well, Andre [Roberts] has been banged up a little bit with the knee – not really, he hasn’t had the injury report – but Santana is the backup punt returner and that’s the main reason and that’s the only reason quite frankly."

#FreeSilas already.

Morris isn't working for whatever reason. Let's see if fresh legs, and a guy that hits the hole quickly can't provide us a spark.

I just went through some stats on Morris that are disgusting. Like he's had the 9th most carries of any RB in the league this season--many more carries than much better RBs. He isn't working.

14 games in a row now without breaking 100 yards. And that's under two different coaches.

I've seen enough. Free Silas.

Now I get that you are a little extreme and maybe you should change your name to McX5 for the extremeness of your actions.

but this is silly. Morris is a proven RB who has gotten it done year after year. I will never agree with trying to put a vet on the bench because of a rookie crush.

I can see cycling him in instead of Helu at times but I can't see BENCHING Morris in favor of Redd.

It's insane to think 62 yards a game average this season is the best we can do. 62 yards a game is pathetic.

That isn't even average.....that's not a starter. And he's being given more carries than guys like Jamaal Charles and Marshawn Lynch. Enough already. And that's not saying it's all his fault. Maybe it's the blocking. Maybe he's not a good fit for this scheme? Maybe he's too banged up.

We've benched Polumbus. We benched Cousins. Now it's time to apply the same standard to other guys that aren't performing at an acceptable level.

We need to start rotating others into the position to see if we have a better option. Start with a few series at first, and see if we don't improve. Morris can still have a few series too....and after two seasons of 300+ carries in a row, he might benefit from the rest.

What could it possibly hurt? What would we miss out on? 62 yards a game?

come on, man. he's been up against some tough defenses and defenses that know Cousins wasn't going to run so they stacked the box.

im OK with rotating more...but benching your stud RB?

How much of it's Morris? I've watched him gash defenses for 8 - 10, and I've also seen him run into a closed gap due to bad blocking. I can understand your point if you're wanting the additional speed to reach the edge, but between the tackles (which is where this team thrives) I'd still rather have Morris...

Not benching.....but yes on rotating.

I get that having RG3 doesn't help. And that teams are stacking the box. I also get that our TEs and Desean aren't exactly blocking well on the edge, and guys are getting around the corner to catch him from the backside.

His patient, dancing around strategy doesn't work well in those conditions. He hesitates to hit the hole, instead waiting for holes to open up. Then he gets caught.

Let's get someone in there who will accelerate right into the hole, and see if we can't catch a spark.

well, you've gone from benching to rotating. thats a bit different.
