All good and well if you are within a field goal of victory when it matters! Not many kickers get 5 or more attempts in the last quarter whilst keepng their opponents scoreless.
 
I am tired...I have so much invested in this team a loss like tonight just takes so much out of me. After the next home game/BGO Tailgate, I will not be spending money/time attending games anymore this year. Like I mentioned in another thread, the tension at the stadium is boiling over and it's just a matter of time before we see something similar to the youtube video in San Fran from last weekend. I have too much to lose to find myself fighting at a football stadium because people don't know how to act when they get booze in them.

Compound it with the stinging realization that while we spent 3 1st round draft picks on one QB, Dallas has quietly drafted top rated OL in 2 of those drafts and put together a solid OL that has them winning.

****ing Robert Griffin III...another flash in the pan acquisition that is going to set the organization back at least 5-7 years.

My guess is most of the guys yucking it up won't be here next year. Watching the game I was thinking to myself how many of these guys realize they are playing for roster spots next year?

Changing the culture won't be easy.
 
If we can't get Wade P. I wouldn't mind a run at Rex Ryan. Same thing, shitty HC but great DC

I have a hard time believing he's still impressed with our edge setting LBs after last night. Wilson made us look horrible because Rak and Kerrigan were crashing down and breaking contain.

I'm up for it. I've wanted to give Haslett a chance since Shanny left and we have. game 1 and 2 were well done... then the defense fell apart. Injuries have a bit to do with it but some of the schematics are seriously lacking and getting exposed
 
Games 1 and 2 were against pedestrian offenses with pedestrian QB's. Since then we've faced professional offenses and QB's. Plus the league had a couple of weeks worth of film to look at ... which I'm pretty sure told them exactly what so many of us have believed all along--same old Haslett defense; disorganized, poorly schemed, utterly predictable and unable to challenge on third down.

Sigh.
 
I was happy that Kerrigan finally stopped crashing down and that seemed to stop him from being able to scramble on that side. But not Rak. I will be happy when we part ways with him.

Kirk looked good with the deep ball. He exposed Richard Sherman and the secondary for being as overrated as we all believed they were to begin with. that damn stretch play needs to be thrown out the window or overhauled to actually work. Morris is a "one cut and go" kind of back by design and choice...he needs to be used as such.

It's nuts, you'd think RGIII WASN'T on this team and able to give our D some kind of clue how to play the read option and QB designed runs.

it also doesn't help that Robinson and Riley were absolutely horrible in coverage and bit the wrong way on QB fakes time and time again. The first big Run Robinson broke the wrong way into a covered zone (where he actually ran into the guy doing his job correctly) and left the middle wide open which of course Wilson took advantage of. It's not talent, it's just horrible coaching and a team that is seemingly never prepared for their opponent. It's then compounded with the lack of in game adjustments. Oh and don't even get me started on the secondary coverage schemes. Breeland was taking grief from Jon Gruden last night for playing too far off in a short yardage situation but that's classic Haslett. The kid is being TOLD to do that. It's a textbook demonstration of Einstein's Axiom of Insanity.
 
I still put most of that on Rak. If he doesn't continually crash down and holds his lane then Wilson has to stay in the pocket or throw it away.

Or Jon Gruden may have already had conversations with someone 'in the know' and was parroting those assessments (hint hint)...
 
2 years ago, we held Wilson in check in the first half with relative ease. Reed Doughty was spying him most of the game and it worked. Where was that last night? We should have had a DB, preferably a safety, spying him. Put some in the box like they did with Doughty and have them follow Wilson everywhere he went.

I will give Haslett the benefit of the doubt, last night he adjusted to their offense and we held them to 4 scoreless possessions in a row. Problem is, you cannot give Wilson 5, 6 or 7 possessions in a half. You must...MUST...develop a run game with an OL that can grind, manhandle, dominate the DL, eat up clock and keep a Russel Wilson off the field. McD5 is right, the pass pro last night was solid for much of the game, Cousins had time to let play develop and we had a few big plays because of it. But that unit remains the liability on our team. You can say all you want about our secondary, but Wilson did not have many targets last night...the only big plays came from him extending the play to allow his receivers to get open. It was the short possessions on offense that put the Seattle offense back on the field for 7 possessions in the 2nd half last night. They only scored 10 points of those 7 possessions.

That is what is being lost in the discussion about our OL...we just don't extend drives, poor play calling or not.

agree with this. and believe it applies to kerrigan as well.

Not bad at all.
