Random Commanders Thoughts

So, Neild is the only serious injury to come out of preseason. Is that correct ?

It looks that way. The Staff and FO apparently said he was going to make the roster, too. Not sure if they were just trying to make him feel better (not that it would help... I'd feel worse), but that was what the "rumor" was.

Seastrunk and that touchdown. We've talked about his lack of hands but that catch was made going away and down around his knees. He secured that nicely and....

Well, that was nice

For whatever dumb reason I was thinking the game was on Friday. Appreciate all the feedback from you guys who have seen it.

Seems the D is gonna be decent at minimum.

for all the silas fans...and not trying to be fractious...I see nothing special abt the guy. there's nothing break-away there. all I saw...in common with complaints/rationalizations abt Cousins...was a power guy who performed well against second and third team scrubs. I don't recall his name name EVER being called out on special teams. when we play real, quality defenses...I'm not seeing anything special there. got it...we play a power running game. this is a mistake that...IMO...will bear minimal return on value. but it's not a crucial mistake.

Three of our 8 draft picks got cut before the season.

That's pathetic. Those are wasted picks.
When was the last time a staff here admitted mistakes and moved on instead of keeping them around because "well, we drafted 'em, we're geniuses"?

You show me a team that hits 100% on their draft class and I'll show you a kid playing Madden 2015.

I disagree.. I would imagine that's about the average when you consider Seastrunk and Bolser will be designated to the PS... Both play at positions we have legit depth at, and Hocker is a kicker. We took a flier late in the draft for a guy and he didnt work out. I would bet money that less guys drafted AFTER rd 5 make the team, then guys who dont.

Plus, since Seastrunk was drafted and Redd was not.... if this staff see's them two as comparable, then Redd is a better value since he's going to cost less. Thompson is the change of pace guy, with health concerns... having Seastrunk on the PS to be there in case Thompson gets hurt, still allows for him to be a possible contributor.

not quite. we traded down from a higher pick.

I like this too. It's refreshing.

Take your shots and move on.

So did 3 of the Patriots 9 picks.

with all due respect...that is irrelevant. when I spend my cash, suppose I buy five items. further suppose someone else spends the same amount on five items. does it make any difference to me whether they dispose of three or four of those items? no. additionally, basing an assessment on the mean value doesn't strike me as shooting to be the best. it's shooting to do what everyone else manages on average.

Bolser was a blown pick. Unathletic slow white TE's probably shouldn't be a priority in the draft. Other than that - I think we did great. All of the draft picks that should have been expected to make the roster, did so. Period.
