Do you think any team in the country right now is thinking about using a roster spot to try and get info on the Raiders? Of course not. Who cares what the Raiders do? There are better teams in that division that people will focus on. Ditto for the Jags. No team is thinking that beating the Jags is a priority this season. No one even cares.

We were at or near the bottom of the Division for so many years there, that it would have been more likely that a team might try to steal a player from the Giants for info.

Of course no-one is going to target our players because we're a great team. They do it if they're about to play us and/or a division rival. That's common knowledge.
 
since this is a random thoughts thread: anyone care to venture why there were no Doug Williams sightings during training camp or the first preseason game?
 
He was a around for the military gig, one of the airmen was all a gush letting everyone on his call list know that he met Doug Williams.
Don't know why he would be front and center media-wise anyway.

From everything I've heard Jay say, yeah it keeps coming up 4. If you split up a lot of carries and only go in with 3 RBs, what happens if #1 or #2 go down? Well now you have no backup or you are back to loading up one of the backs. Gruden seems to be very conservative in terms of players health so I see four. And they will split up more carries. 300+ carries a year is a death number for RBs to pull year after year. Knock it down by 50 or so. Not a ton - only 3 or 4 carries a game; just get Alf down to no more than 17 carries a game. They got some guys that can pick up that slack - don't kill the golden goose.

First thing Gruden has said - more than once - about what he wants to see in RBs is their ability to block. Helu; easily the best blocker out of all of them, picks up the blitz and they know he can catch. Royster maybe the best blocker of whose left but I don't know, I guess we'll see. If that is the premium - look for it on Monday from all.

He must have gotten better. I did watch a little of his first day and his Chappelle banter with ED was an absolute disaster and just plain stupid. Whenever I see his peanut, Beetleguise head on NFLN, I just change the channel.

He completely dogged the cowbums and the whole panel was stunned. Nobody does that!

But he was right. They suck. And then he dogged their "fight" against the Raiders and called them all soft.

Then he broke in to some kevin hart routine and it made me laugh. Maybe I'm just happy to see him not dogging the skins daily.

He even said our defense is most likely to improve the most.
 
Oh I think the defense will improve this year. That doesn't mean much though. The bar is set pretty low.

I sometimes just want to scream "WHY CANT YOU BE HAPPY THAT WE ARE DOING BETTER?!!"

but then I realize that would be the very definition of insanity...I have done that already several times and the same people have the same reasons and end up doing the same thing again.

Oh well. I am happy someone gave us praise on TV instead of talking about drama or how we suck. If others dont see it, that isn't my bag anymore today.
 
Also, don't forget being 3-13 theoretically gives us an easier schedule this year.
I like our chances against the Texans, Jags, Cards, Titans, Vikes, Bucs, and Rams.
Of course, some of those teams will rebound this year and surprise.

And our division still sucks, so that's 6 more very winnable games
 
Sorry Mike. I am happy that Lavar said something nice about the Redskins, and I agree that our defense will be much better this year. I'm just noting our defense was so bad last year that "most improved" could mean just about anything.

I expect our defense will be average ... ish. I expect our offense will be very very good.

I expect ten wins.

Is that happy enough for ya. :)
