Random Commanders Thoughts

Going to see my first game at FedEx tonight since 2001 when Marty was coach and we looked horrible during the preseason. It will be my boys' first ever trip to a Skins home game! They're pretty psyched.:thewave:

Very cool, Jimbo. I'm sure you will, but make sure they're in their seats in plenty of time for the team entrance and fireworks and primal roar thing. :)

Seriously, I am excited for you bro. Take lots of pics and enjoy every moment!

Not to make every post I make about Sirius NFL radio but I have been spending a LOT of time driving lately.....

Kirwin was asked a bunch of questions about the Pats recently and because he was in Richmond early this week he mentioned that their defense looks much improved. He noted that Garcon and Jackson are a couple of really good receivers and that they had a lot of trouble getting off the line of scrimmage against the Pats. He seemed to think that it was strictly due to the Pats DBs being really good rather than our receivers well... not being that good.

If we allow our receivers to get manhandled and don't run the ball well, the disruption in timing with these jams is going to be our opponents game plan each and every week. A healthy Jordan Reed and a potent run game should quell any worries about these receivers getting off the line. I see where keeping El Matador at right tackle is an asset to the run game over a rookie and hope that his shortcomings in pass pro can be schemed out to a certain degree. Fingers and toes crossed.

Really wish he didn't have the choice between Watt or Clowney the first week though it'd be really nice to keep Robert clean for a few games while he adjusts to the new offense.

It starts tonight. Keeping Robert untouched for the 8-10 plays he's expected to be in for, will start to build his confidence in the Oline.

To say nothing about our confidence.

Garçon has barely been on the field due to his hamstring and Jackson....well, I saw that move he did in the one on one. I'm not too worried about them during live action.

I hope Robert doesn't stare down his receivers like I remember him doing last year.

Bow chickie bow wow.....

That's not Gregg Williams....that's his evil twin from a parallel universe.

All evil twins sport a dark goatee.....at least, that's what all those old 70's sci-fi flicks taught me.....

REDSKINS MAKE ROSTER MOVES

RICHMOND, Va. – The Washington Redskins announced today that they have signed free agent safety Da’Mon (Day-mun) Cromartie-Smith and waived cornerback Peyton Thompson. Terms of the deal were not disclosed.

In addition, the team announced that defensive end Jason Hatcher has passed a physical and no longer appears on the Active/Non-Football Injury list.

Cromartie-Smith (6-2, 203) entered the league as a college free agent on April 26, 2010. In four years across the 2010-13 seasons, he split time between the Pittsburgh Steelers’ active roster and practice squads. He appeared in 10 games as a member of the Steelers, making his NFL debut on Dec. 8, 2011 vs. Cleveland and being credited by the league with four special teams tackles, according to STATS, LLC.

Cromartie-Smith played collegiately from 2005-09 at UTEP, where he appeared in 46 games with 34 starts for the Miners. He compiled 306 tackles, four interceptions and two sacks during his collegiate career, earning first-team All-Conference USA honors as a senior in 2009.

Cromartie-Smith, 27, attended Rancho Verde High School in Moreno Valley, Calif., where he posted 106 tackles, three interceptions and a forced fumble as a senior in 2004. He was born on Feb. 19, 1987.

Could this be Ryan Clark asking for a guy he knows? Maybe Ryan saw something about him during their time in Pittsburgh. One can hope, right?

Seastrunk is clearly limping through practice. Something's bothering him. Trying to tough it out.
