Difficult to grade them because the lack of contact. Chris Thompson has burst...I don't think I saw Lache Seastrunk all day. Morris is good and so is Helu, they look ready to play...no rust.

I responded with a quote from Gruden back in May that he was going to play RT. That's where they had him in rookie days...that's where they had him in OTA's. And, when they get to camp, he's now playing backup LT.

No, no one expected him to be Trent's backup this year...that's not why he was drafted. Just because the FO has changed their tune now doesn't mean they weren't expecting him to be a RT. We didn't go into the draft to pickup Trent's backup. He's struggled at RT in college, and he's struggling on the right side now.

(BTW, if you're not interested in a civil discussion with an adult tone, just let me know, and I'll ignore you. It's okay to admit that you were wrong. I won't hold it against you.)

Just watched (on redskins FB page) DeSean burn Brandon Browner on a short out route for a TD from earlier today.

There was a suggested link below that on my FB that had video of Griffin rolling out to his right and tossing a 40(?) yard TD to an open Jackson down field. It was filmed by someone in the crowd. [emoji3].

Why is that concerning? Do most rookies immediately jump in and start in this league? If they have to play backup for a year or two to learn proper technique does that make them a bust?

Isn't it possible Moses just isn't ready to start now, but might be later in his career with the Redskins?

I just don't understand the panic.

Morgan Moses looking like a rookie as training camp gets underway

This is from July 24th. Again, there's no mention of his playing left tackle.

Whenever I read about Moses, people talk about his size. When they talk about his technique, it's always that he has a lot to learn. I believe his being made a 2nd string LT vs. a 2nd string RT is concerning. But, hey, that's my opinion on an internet message board backed up with some facts and conjecture based on those facts. Maybe you have some facts and conjecture based on those facts that can lead to a good discussion?

Means to an end. Pretty simple really.

It seems to me like most people expect players to just step right in and be NFL ready. I dont see many (outside of some studs) who are ever NFL ready. They have to learn the position they are in, and in the case of OL they usually get moved to a different spot than they are used to. Plus the fact that they have to learn ALL the schemes. It makes for a big order to expect them to just step in.

I'm not in to remembering or holding over heads anymore. It kind of makes for animosity and we're better than that.

But I definitely hear you about your opinion of his drafting and status currently on the roster

Yeah, I'm panicing. Polumbus is going to start AGAIN!

The problem is the FO drafted a guy who likely won't help us at all this year. And, he'll likely never be a RT nor a decent LT (he has problems with speed rushers.)

You do agree that Polumbus pretty horrible, don't you? RT is a glaring need. We need immediate help there...and Moses was not the answer. I think he was a mediocre college talent and slipped in the draft for a number of reasons...including his inability to learn.

Somehow, some way, Polumbus can't be replaced for a third year in a row. He's a decent run blocker, but this is a passing league now...and RG3's knees are fragile.

Are you okay with Polumbus, or are you writing off this year? Sounds like you're content with the current line.

Why would Polumbus starting automatically equate to a written off year? This team isn't built around it's RT.

With Polumbus starting we've fielded a top five offense before. And that's with an inferior #2 WR, #3 WR, TE, a #1 WR that started only half the season on a bad wheel, and rookies at QB and RB. Every single skill position should be better this year than it was that year, either through upgrades or experience. Every single one. I'm gonna panic because we have a RT who stinks at pass protection? Really? I'll panic if Griffin looks slow and skittish like he did last year. That's a reason to panic. But that will have nothing to do with his right tackle. He'll either have that speed, ability and confidence of his rookie year or he won't.

That doesn't mean I'm content with the current line at all, but I don't think it spells doom for this team either. Again, every team has holes. With our defense continuing to be the obvious weakness of this team we couldn't fix everything in one year. And if we had to pick a hole, frankly, with a right-handed, mobile QB, RT isn't the worst hole to have.

I'm also not shocked that a tackle drafted in the third round is not expected to immediately start his rookie year. A guard here and there maybe, but not a tackle. I would never have expected that, and if we ever draft a third round tackle and he did end up being a day one rookie starter, that would be a very pleasant surprise.
