the reason I said these injuries are hit and miss are because lots of guys dont rehab well and there are complications as well. ive seen a lot of guys who simply dont come back from knee injuries

Well, I would agree with you that if not rehabbed properly, yeah, the athlete is going to have some serious problems. :)

Most of the athletes I personally know (mainly olympic wrestlers) have done well after their ACL reconstructions, even their 2nd reconstructions.

As a personal anecdote, my ex-husband was an Olympic Greco wrestler and blew out his R ACL twice and L ACL once (the final R knee blowout was the O'Donoghue's Triad) within a span of 6 years (pretty sure I spent the better part of our marriage helping him rehab those injuries, poor guy). It was after the last blowout that my father (an orthopedic surgeon) convinced him to retire from wrestling. He did retire, but he still rehabbed it properly with the olympic trainers and last time I heard from him, he had returned to grappling (apparently it's "easier" on the knees than wrestling, which I still don't get, but that's ok :) ) and took bronze at the most recent world championships. So, 3 years after his 3rd reconstruction, he's still going strong as a world-class athlete. Aaaaannnnyyyway, whole point of that long-winded story is that these days, elite athletes have access to top notch rehab facilities and trainers and their ACL repairs are much less "miss" and much more "hit" when reentering a professional sport. Oh, and my other point is that athletes are insane. :laugh: I'm a wimp and would cry uncle after the 2nd ACL repair.

It was something to the effect that he would intentionally hold onto the ball as long as could, and also when scrambling out of bounds he would stay in bounds as far and as long as possible until the last nanosecond before defensive contact, with the intention of luring a late-hit penalty. And perhaps more was said.

So, you're recovering from major, career-threatening surgery, and you're going to put yourself at a much higher risk of ending your career, in exchange for a possible defensive penalty ?

I caught the end of it talking about Gruden and the FA acquisitions. Still get a good vibe from him as our coach.

For some strange reason I'm getting a similar feeling to 2012. There will be numerous rookies to make an impact from this past draft class.

Cornerback is going to become a position of strength on defense. Expect Amerson to improve leaps and bounds.
This Breeland kid also seems very intriguing. Trent Murphy just seems like a can't miss type of pick. He might not be
JJ Watt or Demarcus Ware, but I think at worst he's a solid starter. Morgan Moses will be our right tackle for a decade plus.
That beard alone will propel him to pro bowl status.

Love the way this guy thinks. Still wish Gibbs was around...condsidering we made the playoffs 2 out of 4 years and what he walked into? Yeah I'll take that all day. Imagine if he had this current roster on defense. The Butler probably rushes for 2k.
