Random Commanders Thoughts

I wish the redskins could get a broadcast crew like the wizards, caps, or nationals have. Larry Micheal just doesn't do anything for me.

Lol, but the fake Larry Michael game casts are solid gold!!

And the Eagles cheat their way down the field for a touchdown!"

Do I have an understanding boss or what?

Well,

I only have tickets to the Jags, Bucs, Eagles and Seattle. So it doesn't look like I'm gonna make the tailgate yet again ::sigh::.

However, we do have two significant prime time games... Dallas on Monday and Giants on Thursday (one away, one home)... and as most of you know, I work nights. I am supposed to be at work by 11 p.m. (10:30 on Thursdays). I work four 10-hour nights.

Well, I was lamenting the fact to my boss that we have two divisional night games and I was going to have to miss the end of each game to get to work on time. I don't have paid leave to take, as that has been used up with the games I'm traveling to Maryland for to go to games.

Guess what? Not only is she going to approve me being LATE, she actually understands (and no, she's not a Redskins fan, nor a Dallas or Giants fan)... (I think her husband roots for Cleveland, but not sure). All I have to do is (1) skip my meal break those two nights and (2) make up the rest of the time sometime that week (by skipping meal breaks... which I do a lot of anyway).

As long as I can be at work by 1 p.m., she's not only fine with it, she just said to remind her when the dates come about so she can let my direct supervisors know that I am going to be late, but will be in by 1 p.m. at the latest.

Oh wow. If games start at 8:30, even with OT, should be over by midnight-ish... I'm 15 minutes away from work. I'm a happy camper (nowadays, it doesn't take much)... I won't have to miss any of the Dallas game or the Giants game on Monday and Thursday thanks to an understanding boss that knows that this is one of the few things I still have left in my life that I really, really look forward to.
Okay, I'm not saying this to get pity or anything, but with all the drama elsewhere in my life... despite the fact I do get emotionally tied up with the Redskins and how they are doing, I do look forward to it and I can't wait until the season starts.

Anyway... I just had to plug my boss here... wasn't expecting her to be quite that "understanding".

But then... this is someone who, when my niece became foster parents to four of my older niece's kids because CPS took the kids, she organized a drive to collect non-food items (things food stamps wouldn't cover) around the holidays so the kids would have a decent holiday).

I'm lucky. I have a second "Redskins family" here that I enjoy "watching" the games with during chat even if they aren't on television and now I have a boss who knows how important it is for me to be able to relax and watch the game, before coming to work rather than coming in before the game is over and stressing over the fact I can't see the end and say goodbye to all you fine folks!

HTTR!

It's a long way to go until games start. No way you can score some tickets to titans and maybe sell one of the games you have?

I was just looking at DeAngelo Hall's player profile, which lists him as currently 30 years old, and he was drafted exactly 11 years ago by the Falcons. So, that means, he was only NINETEEN when he was drafted into the NFL ?

He is also listed as playing 3 years at Virginia Tech, which would mean he was only SIXTEEN when he started college ?
It sounds insane, but I keep double-checking the figures, and they keep reaching the same conclusion.

How is this possible ? Is there some information that I'm missing ?

D-Hall born Nov 19,1983, will be 31 come Nov this year.
Drafted 10 years ago in 2004 at 20 turned 21 that Nov.

for some reason the 'experience' part of these profile stats always seem to be ahead by one year ie. RG3 shows 3 yrs experience so one might think he was drafted 3 years ago in 2011 but we all know that he is only heading into his third season.

to me experience is a completed season but it appears that in footballeeze an upcoming season counts as experience

Its yours brother! You just let Stephen know that I will be keeping and eye on him when he is around Leela lol

Would love draft to be in Canton.. that's only 2 hours away from me :) That would be so cool.

As for scoring tickets to the Titans (or whatever game BGO has it's tailgate and I don't have tickets), it's a possibility.. finances are a big one though. The Bucs game is already promised to someone for them to go with me... so I can't back out of that one ...

In any event.... I'm ready for some football... I'll follow how the draft goes from work tonight (well, will start from home)... is there a chat room gonna be set up for it? Sometimes I can get into chat from work, sometimes I can't. Part of it depends on how busy we are, sometimes it depends on what kind of security they decide to have. We're not supposed to be on any "social networking" site, but people do it all the time; as long as it's not abused and we get our work done, they sortof turn the other way.

And yes tshile... my boss is definitely a keeper! I knew she was before the issue of Dallas on Monday and the Giants on Thursday; this just adds to it.

HTTR all!

WTEM reporting this AM that the NFL Council is looking at moving the draft next year to Memorial Day weekend.

Talk about keeping us waiting!

I have already had enough of Kiper and Mayock this year in the run up to today's start for the draft.

That's just dumb. We travel just about every Memorial Day, and the last thing my wife will want to put up with is her idiot husband finding a TV and/or internet connection every hour to check who the Skins drafted.

Goodell's a dope.

well, pro bowl is in AZ this year
Draft Day might get moved dates

yep, he is doing everything he can to make fans have to change their entire lives in order to enjoy what they have perfectly fine for decades.

It appears that drug testing should apply to the Commissioner, and not just the players

An so ends the last pickless first round for the redskins due to the griffin trade.
