Random Commanders Thoughts

NFL network had Pierre on for a quick q & a. They basically begged him for drama tidbits and backstabbing, he repeated the media more less blows shit out of proportion in DC.

Is there too much reading into what is really going on here? It could be that "Redskins Hog Rinds" was opposed by the team based on the team name and the famed Hogs.

Seems like a reach to me even if the team was not involved in any shape, form, or fashion.

Which is why going after the trademark is a brilliant move. Money is more important to the league, and likely Snyder, than protecting the name.

Why would we change the name to something that is just as controversial? So we can go through another change in 20 years? The name Warriors has already been bitched about and teams/universities have changed their name because of it.

If we change let's change to something that isn't going to be a problem in 20 years...

First off, the trademark issue is not new. This battle has been fought before in the not so distant past. Also, Snyder has naming rights for Warriors already secured for a number of years now. I think it was right about the time we won the trademark case last time around...

Snyder should pay a small tribe to use the name redskins as their new legal entity, then have that tribe thank them for honoring them publicly

Or make Shanahan earn his 7 million and make this the new helmet image

I prefer this pic though, it goes better with our 3-13 seasons:

3-13 isn't blowing shit out of proportion. We suck right now...and, a new guy isn't likely to fix us in one season.

The drama was what he/I was alluding to being made up not the poor play.

Odds are against us in a year one worst to first scenario, but a solid offseason can get us back to respectable IMO. Hell 4-12 is an improvement, as sickening a thought that is. I actually see this team closer to 8-8 next season but that's the homerism.

We will have the last place schedule again and still playing in the weakest division in the NFL. Most of the difference between 2012 and 2013 was that we just went 0-6 vs the division and we blew wins vs several teams like Det, Min, Gnats, Dallas, Atlanta. Not even counting being up 21-7 vs Denver and almost coming back vs the Eagles if we just hold on to the lead most of the time we'd have been 8-8. We sucked in the 1st half early in the season and then lost the last 8 as well.

Ok, the waiting is over Redskins....Do us all a favor and skip the bullshit press conferences. Just shut your mouths and get to work for a change.

Verily, verily I say unto thee - there is much rejoicing across the land. The Redskins emerged from their coaching conclave after ten arduous days and a new head coach has been anointed. He shall bring forth many victories, championships, and great football. Go forth from our tailgating coaching conclave and proclaim this great news to all the world.

All Hail Jay Gruden! Hail to Jay! Hail to the Redskins!

Shanahan failed here for the better part of 4 years and now he failed with his last bomb toss courtesy of Sally Jenkins.

Evidently running Griffin down in the Post one more time didn't prevent Gruden from taking the job, or from 5-6 other qualified guys to interview for it.

if i was a good dancer i'd video tape my happy dance and share it with you all

Former GM Charley Casserly on RG3's bond w/ new coach: "The problem you have here in this city is everybody thinks this is a unique problem"

Casserly's point? QB/coach dynamic is an issue w/ 32 teams: "This guy sinks or swims on how defense and special teams play along w/ offense"

whelp, we can put the early the vs a controversy to rest, finally...

Gruden says RG3 is the starter | Comcast SportsNet Washington

Appearing on LaVar and Dukes on 106.7 The Fan, Gruden was unequivocal when asked who the starting quarterback will be.

“Robert Griffin III is the starter,” Gruden said, via Chad Dukes. “There will be no competition.”

I'm really, really against there not being competition at every spot on the team. I think there being competition at every spot is a fundamental part of a team being run the way I would like it to be run. I think there's nothing but benefits, generally speaking, from every player competing; many benefits.

But given all the ridiculousness surrounding Griffin the last 5 weeks I suppose this is the only way to handle it.
