Random Commanders Thoughts

I mean I didn't see yesterday's or the Lions game but we do so much better when more runs are called. We're not built for the pasd happy game plan Kyle called earlier in the season. Not with this O-line anyways.

Best bet for now is let Morris, Helu and Young get fed and fed often.

I fully 100% agree with you. :) I say run early and run often. Kyle often disagrees and well, we see what happens.

Shanahan is still trying to get by with his strategy of fielding an OL of undersized performers who can execute the ZBS run scheme, while in the past 20 years since winning in Denver the NFL has become a passing league where protecting the qb comes first.

You don't sacrifice hits on your franchise qb to establish a running game.

Instead you pass short and intermediate to set up the run by spacing everyone out on defense.

Skins release DE Phillip Merling and waive kicker John Potter

Forbath must be back?

Josh Morgan's snap count at WR by game: Eagles - 34, Packers - 26, Lions - 24, Raiders - 19. Looks like Hankerson has won the No. 2 WR job.

Hankerson's on pace for 60 catches, 740 yards and 8 TDs. Pretty solid numbers for a #2 WR. His hands look a lot better this year and he looks overall sharper to me. Morgan, on the other hand, looks pretty much the same as he did last year.

That's just my view from the stands.

I really like the way hankerson is improving. Still has a lot to prove, but he's at least trending upwards.

I sure hope the trend continues...I *DO* love being right. :D

That may be the case, but Morgan was also hurt for a while. So that may or may not skew the numbers

I could be mistaken but I'm pretty sure Morgan was listed as the starter for week one and Hankerson was listed as the starter for weeks 2-4. I do realize Morgan missed some of Sunday due to injury but I think it's more than that. Looks to me like the coaches have made a decision.

Hank is making strides, the locals keep reminding us that this was the first year he actually had an unencumbered training camp.
Last year he was coming off injury, his first year he lost camp time 'cause of the dang lockout BS.

Morgan is 28 years old and a free agent that won't be back in 2014.

The Redskins are going with the younger player who has greater upside both now and for the future.

If it weren't for that salary, I could actually see him coming back. He's a great blocker and decent teamer but he just hasn't done near enough to deserve the money he signed for.

I believe this is the last year of his contract. They could bring him back at a much lower price...possibly.

I really like Hankerson, but I keep checking twitter daily hoping to see that's we've miraculously landed Josh Gordon.

He has a better advantage to see the potential in this team since he's broadcast 2 of our 4 games so far this year...and a pre-season game. You know since none of the media actually takes the time to look at any film.

I just wish he wasn't so awful at it. Hopefully he will get better because he seems like he might be good...if he can stop the simple mistakes.

Yeah, Barber should get better with experience, good on air voice too.
Don't know about the genius part but I'll take any positive vibe when it comes to the Skins.
