Wonder if Haslett will stay in the booth for the real games, he seemed to like that perspective as long as the calls get in on time.
Might not be the right move for the Eagles' new format offense, maybe later?

I gotta think they have given London Fletcher some autonomy on the field.
 
Eli's got them right where he wants them. Btw - anyone else think that punt glanced off the Dallas players shoulder pad before hitting the return guy?

I think it hit the Giants' player first. Either way, that guy is an idiot. DON'T LET THE BALL HIT YOU ON PUNTS. That's day one stuff, man!

I actually have a hard time blaming him. In general you're right, but that was a really bad punt and no reasonable gunner blocker should expect to be hit by the punt where he was. In addition it's the return man's job to tell them to look out. Not sure of he did.
 
Read option week one (so far.) I watched the SF game yesterday. The Packers Defense was still smarting from the pounding they took in the playoffs against the same team. The Packers had all off season to prepare. SF used the read option very little. GB kept the running game in check. They got pressure on the Qb.BUT the wrs were wide open all game long. They couldn't cover a very good but not so swift of foot career possession receiver (Boldin)

I expect the better run option teams to enjoy this season quite a bit as long as they have a defense that can protect the lead and a qb that is a Reliable passer. I'm guessing we won't see much read option tonight . I see Griffin killing it with his arm. Wide open receivers all over the field.:grouphug: I have no idea what the Defense will do.:pint:
 
I wouldn't be surprised to see little to no read-option in the game-plan tonight. More designed roll-outs, off-tackle running and naked boots, real old-school Shanahan stuff, but with some new-school Shanahan twists.

My favorite thing to watch this past weekend was LSU's Eric Reid all over the field against Green Bay. The kid is going to be a really good safety in the NFL. Why was this so pleasant for me to watch? He was drafted at 18th overall, the spot Dallas traded OUT of. Would have helped solidify the Cowboys' secondary for a long time, but instead they traded back for a 3rd-round rated prospect at Center. LOLz. Love Jerrah the GM!
