He got on the field for more than half their games.
Besides, a lot of people here have been complaining like Long is the worst thing since the plague...."a practice squad player couldn't be any worse !", etc

He was benched after the first two games and only played on special teams after that...until the last five games where he was inactive.

Bills? defense has taken a big step back under Rex Ryan | ProFootballTalk

We could go on all day with stats like this: Across the board, the Bills’ defense is worse with Ryan than it was before Ryan arrived. Add in the fact that the Jets’ defense has gotten better this season under Todd Bowles than it was last season with Ryan, and the conclusion is clear: Ryan isn’t quite the defensive genius he’s made out to be.
 
this is a week we won't be facing a franchise qb.

if the defense can stop the run and limit what McCoy gets the Redskins should win this game.

two additional caveats.

no DeSean Jackson on punt returns deep in his own territory.

and no kickoffs in the field of play - the coverage units simply can't cover so our hope is Hopkins not letting them have a try.
 
We haven't beaten Buffalo (other than preseason) since the Super Bowl. That's a big enough hurdle to leap.

We also don't play them that often.

Buffalo is not a bad team, they are just not a good one.

Six of one and half a dozen of the other and with the home field the Redskins should eke out a win.

But I do believe the coaching/game-planning has an effect on how these guys play.

When Gruden is up tempo and more aggressive in his playcalling the team seems to gain confidence from his trust in them.

Where we go into a game and try and run the ball and eat clock and avoid making any mistakes, the team plays tentative ball and seems to be waiting for something bad to happen.
 
Franchise QB or not, we have to be able to cover Sammy Watkins. He's having a very good year.

I don't believe in placing emphasis on historic records between 2 teams, when it comes to a basis for predicting a new game.
What do these 2 teams have in common, with the same 2 teams that went against each other, over the past 20 years of games ?
Same team name, same team city, same owner.....that's about it.
And none of those factors affect the outcome of a football game.
So the past it literally irrelevant.
But the media loves to bring it up, and make it sound like it's actually meaningful.
 
The Bills offense is explosive, you guys mention a lack of a "franchise QB', but Tyrod Taylor is no slouch, the kid has thrown 8 TD's in the past 3 games. Sammy Watkins concerns me only a little bit, he is hit or miss, mostly. It's LeSean McCoy who scares me...he has consistently chewed us up. He is looking to bounce back after the Eagles game. He may not be the RB he once was, but he can be that RB for one game.

Perhaps they are confusing Tyrod Taylor with Terrell Pryor, who's not-so "franchisey" of a QB.....two QB's currently in the NFL, with similar names, but not-so similar talent :)
 
The one thing I'm wary of is Taylor's mobility. Been a long time since our D had the overall speed to contain and limit shifty QB's with wheels. We have a hard time even against statues like Cutler once the play breaks down and goes sandlot ... Taylor doesn't scare me as a pocket guy going through progressions, but our ability to limit the damage he does on broken plays (and even designed runs) to me is likely the key to this game.

The worst part is that tool was interviewed on the Dexter Manley "A Football Life". I wanted to throw a brick through my TV when I saw that. I guess that appearance and this article prove that guy will do anything for attention.
