Random Commanders Thoughts

So Boone is the only one I recall, publicly stating we will win this week. I think he's right...we are playing well, Pats game notwithstanding, and the Panthers are primed for an upset. They're a young team playing with a lot of confidence, may a bit of hubris...I think we continue the success against a bad defense and transfer that into an upset against a good defense.

I don't think we win this week, but I would be encouraged by being a tough out. A bad team would have a let-down game this week. I think avoiding that, even in a loss, would be something.

If we get blown out, not sure how much progress we can truly say we've made to this point.

WE ARE WINNING!!

WE ARE KEEPING CAM OUT OF THE END ZONE!!!

Yeah, I'm not quite ready to predict a W in this one ... still have doubts about the defense's ability to keep us close enough to steal a tough one on the road against a quality opponent. But I won't be shocked if we DO pull it off, either. If we don't throw the bit ourselves--dropped passes, penalties, turnovers, special teams gaffes, etc.--I think we have a realistic shot.

And man, what a W this would be. A .500 record at this point in the season, winning two in a row heading home to play the Giants for first place ... it's one of those true Opportunity Games that come along from time to time.

Oh, a win this weekend would be incredibly huge. No doubt about that.

If the D can focus on and stop the run and make Cam throw from the pocket, we'll have a real chance.

Carriker said that Cam is the biggest QB he has ever sacked. Said he is more elusive and solid than Big Ben but if you can keep him from dancing he goes down just like the rest of them.

I think that is true. If we can get pressure from Kerrigan and Smith/Murphy we can get him in to the middle where hopefully Baker/Hatcher/Paea/Knighton are waiting.

Redskins 24
Panthers 17

This is the week that the anti-Kirk, anti-Gruden, pro-RG3 peanut gallery disappears once and for all.

And then we can focus on a playoff run:)

At this time in each of the last two seasons, the Redskins had just fallen to 3-6 and knew that it would take a miracle run, like 2012, to reach the postseason. But unlike that season, they lacked the confidence or belief. They say this time is different.

“It’s just the energy,” Redskins receiver DeSean Jackson said. “Guys are flying around knowing we have a shot to make the playoffs. That’s in the back of our minds.”

I would so love to actually tell you just how I feel about this post, but decorum, and the fact I'd have to ban myself keeps me from doing so. And if we do lose, maybe the peanut gallery you seem to be the head of will STFU !

I was in the same boat with that...nobody on this site is an idiot and any insulting comments to imply such should be curbed.

I think we have a solid chance. It's a true indicator of where we are as a team. Is Kirk the guy? He has pretty good pass protection and weapons to throw to. Those weapons Reed, DJax, Crowder and Garcon had the dropsies 2 games back.Which group shows up? They are healthier today than they've been all season. The question is can we run the ball effectively? We do seem to fall apart when we can't run the ball.

Ah, the daily reminder that some people root for a guy and not the team. What would we ever do without that reminder every day.

I root for the Redskins, no matter who is under center, or who the coach is. If you don't want to be reminded of Robert, I'd suggest that you have a word with all the anti Griffin people, asking them to stop bring him up, because the pro Griffin people don't seem to have a problem not bringing him up the majority of the time.

Raiders @ Redskins circa 1983, the 2nd half.

What a gem someone posted to youtube! And my how the game and officiating has changed!

Skins down 35-20 with 7 minutes left.....

Art Monk vs Lester Hayes

Don Warren: downfield threat? In this game, yes!

Joe Washington with one big play after another....

DP...remember that game well, which is why I really thought we'd win it all going into the SB against them. I had a good youth!

it...of course...and rather obviously....has little to do with Griffin or Cousins/Gruden.

loyalty....now that's an interesting concept!

It is. One that can be viewed from multiple directions.
