Random Commanders Thoughts

look on the bright side: we're gonna have two picks out of the first 33 next draft!

more suckage from the Washington Redskins.

I have a book to read.

I think it's safe to say the QB controversy is over.

Horrible showing by the team all the way around...I got suckered into thinking we had improved. The defense isn't any better than last year.

There's a friggin curse on this game.

Only the skins could make Eli look this good, ONLY the skins

You know, you live through years and years of rebuilding, retooling etc, which basically means suckage.

You get through the first ten years because just the sweet aroma of the Glory Days fumes still resonate and comfort you.

The next ten years, you're trying not to wimp out. It's gut check time for you and your fandom.

Now? Your just empty inside. You find yourself trying to watch old glory highlights on YouTube to get that feeling back but it only manages to bring a brief smile to your face.
You try to share that with your kids and all of a sudden you realize...OMG...you're that old guy that says " back in the day...my boys we're something else..."

So now I sit here with the fan gas tank drained, with the firm belief that this is as good as we will ever be. Maybe a fluke season like 2012 comes along once every ten, twelve years but as far as being a perennial contender? Nope. I can't ever see that happening here again.

I guess this weekend may be spent boxing up jerseys and caps. Packing t shirts and other apparel up and putting them away for maybe next year or heck, maybe my kids one day will open them for sentimental value.

Just totally lost right now....just like the team I root for.

I feel ya DP, this shit is mind numbing on what this team has to do for consistency. Good consistency that is

At least I can say I have seen the 'Skins when they were a good team, but that was a llloooonnnnngggg time ago.

The SB win against Denver, the SB win against Buffalo, the good times in between. Sadly, nothing much since. I'm now on the wrong side of 50 and I don't expect to see another good Redskins team, EVER!

I can live with Cousins erratic performance he hasn't played a full season worth of games but damn our DB's are garbage outside of Clark. All of them, Breeland has looked solid for a rookie until tonight. Amerson, Biggers, Meriwether all garbage.

I'm right there with you DP. My brain says 'Look - we should've known that there would be some significant growing pains with talent holes in some key places, still trying to figure out who our long-term QB is going to be, a new head coach, and, well....Haslett still here'. But in our hearts, we just want some winning and positives to cheer about consistently. It's hard to hang in there, no matter what kind of a fan you are.

I totally understand what you're saying.

What's disconcerting isn't that our DBs are garbage - Amerson, Breeland, we have some young talent there. What's disconcerting is how disorganized and poorly-coached they looked out there. They clearly had no idea who needed to be where for large stretches of the game tonight. I don't understand how we can look that disorganized even this early in the season.

I have to keep saying to myself, 'Why not just put the jersey away. Everyone laughs at you and has been doing it for 7 years now." I can only say, "Because I love my team." All I got left is love. I cant say, "Hey look a superbowl." Or "Hey look a playoff win." I am not old enough to see the glory days. I only have these. But despite all this, I will not hang my head in shame. I wont put the jersey in my closet. Ill wear it on game day. Ill take all the criticism and hate and just shrug it off. Because I love my team.

I'm with ya. I know I am because these type of posts used to make me sick. Now I just nod in agreement. Hurts, because the taste of having your faith rewarded in this team is one of the sweetest things I've ever tasted... but it just becomes next to impossible to have anymore.

Mike, you can yell at me for feeling like this, lol. I feel like I deserve it.

Tough to put a finger on too. I mean is it Hazass, Raheem, players, a combination. Our secondary has been steady shit since He's coached the db's. The gnats were in position for picks all night and we have to get ours on a triple deflection . Tough to digest

I have to say this, & mind you it may only be because it is fresh-maybe I will feel better or differently in the morning. I am thoroughly disgusted by what I saw & heard tonight. It never ceases to amaze me how poorly this team can play against a Division foe in a Primetime game.

Haslett has got to go. The defense looked straight up lost all night. They had no idea who to cover or where the ball was going until after it got there & all too often it was too late. The one TD throw, the TE was in the back of the endzone & not one defender was covering him or even looking at him. He trotted right by 3 guys & not one of them even paid him any attention whatsoever. The defense was beyond awful.

The offense...was offensive. Anyone claiming that the O-Line is any good should really rethink that statement. Nothing could be further from the truth. Polumbus may as well not even be on the field. Linemen are blowing thru him as tho he isn't even there. The rest of the line isn't much better. At least 2 of the INTs Cousins threw were due to being under pressure while he throws the ball. He didn't have much time to do anything.

All in all, the effort was poor because on all levels, they looked lost, confused, out coached & out played man for man. If this doesn't get Jay Gruden's blood boiling enough to start rolling heads, nothing will.

Like I said, Jim Haslett is on borrowed time & should have been fired with the Shannys. They couldn't have stopped Auburn tonight & I don't know that the score would've looked much different. And this with Seattle on the horizon. Fantastic.

I am not going to go thru another season like last year, so at this moment, I'm done with this season. I am already chocking it up as another piss poor performance with piss poor results. With the brutality of this season still to come, I think we'll be lucky if we pull out 3 more wins.

Sorry y'all, but I am literally sick to my stomach to see this crap & knowing that we all have to go into work tomorrow & listen to the opposing team fans grate us over this & force us to relive every bitter moment...just makes me sick. I hate this.

I was thinking the same thing. How is it that this Giants team looks lost against everyone but us? We make a sorry team look like world beaters. What a joke.

The way Cousins looked reminded me of how the Giants always make Brady look. We were down our left side of the OL when Trent went down and wasn't that about when it all went to hell? The Giants just know how to push the middle on pocket passers, our line is banged up, and as bad as RG3 is at using the pocket Cousins looks worse once he loses his.

Now he's going to see that every week in addition to the db's jumping his routes. It was almost like the Giants did a Belichick Cheatriot video thing at halftime but I think it was just them collapsing the pocket and we all remember how Cousins looked in the 4th against the Eagles once he got hit on that delay of game which wasn't penalized.

I guess now we can see how important TW is to that OL and imagine if we had another good one at RT.

Like I said at the beginning of the season when someone suggested the 1st game of the season was a must win...we aren't good. We just aren't. We need to lower our expectations.

If you expected us to win the division, I don't know why you would, but if you did...you're probably very upset.

I do not expect us to be a good team...didn't to start the year. I applaud those who think Super Bowl every year, but I live in the real world where we are not remotely as good as too many think/thought we were. So while it stung to see the stands filled with more fans of a division foe than our own when the clock struck 0:00, I don't care enough to be too upset. We got a long road ahead and those who thought Shanahan left us in a "better" position were just fooling themselves. We are devoid of talent on this team.

Lower your expectations...realize we aren't a good team and enjoy as the team progresses...if we are able to field a team with all the injuries.

And anyone who thinks our OL is good, really needs to open their eyes. Here is what your starting RT looked like most of the night...

Everybody needs to take a deep breath and relax. We are going to have a high draft pick in the next draft and will be able to select either the tight end or outside linebacker that we covet the most.

Lord knows we don't need offensive linemen. We already have one of the best of those groups in the league.
