Random Commanders Thoughts

So much about EB is literally about EB :rotflmao: :rotflmao:

This guy's baggage and controversy is almost rising to the level of some of the players such as Chase Young.

EB can try and save face but the truth is it wasn't racism that prevented him from becoming a play calling offensive coordinator or head coach in the NFL.

It was the fact his resume showed that while he was on a KC Chiefs team that accomplished a lot and won a lot of games, his role in that was definitely a complementary one, not a primary one.

The telling comment came from Andy Reid when asked about an EB return: 'Well, I don't have any openings on my offensive staff right now'.

Note that Josh McDaniels and other coordinators that flame out as head coaches or lose another job often go back to their former teams where they are welcomed back.

Not here.

Look - I think there's a lot to like about EB. But ending up as a college OC after all his time at a high level in the NFL, it sort of speaks for itself. I hope he someday gets a shot somewhere.

Oddly, I don't disagree completely with Rich here. Other than trading for Fields, I mean. Not interested in Fields. At all.

However, if Peters could trade back in the 1st and pick up one or two more Day 2 picks, plus picks in future drafts? Yeah, I'm good with that.

This team needs young talent. Lots of it.

Seven picks in the Top 103 in a draft that is considered deep at positions we are desperate for?

Yes, please!

The Fields thing would be a mistake. Washington has a history of trading away seconds for vet QBs and it pretty much always backfires. If the QB is worth keeping or if there's a chance the QB is worth keeping what team is letting them go? Worse comes to worse, you do what Reid did and keep Alex Smith for a year to tutor and mentor the rookie (and keep him in case the rookie busts). If the rookie has the good and you see it on your playing field then you can get something for your vet. So yeah, I would not trade for Fields. I would draft Williams/Maye/Daniels at number 2 if I fell in love with them. If I don't love any of them then I would trade down grab the best tackle I could with our new first rounder and maybe.... maybe draft a QB with one of my second rounders, but plan to coach up Howell and build off his many positives.

The team that knows him best is about to draft his replacement. What in all that is holy are folks like Snider missing? If Justin Fields was going to be ‘the guy’ In pretty sure the entire NFL world would already know it.

On the field Justin Fields looks as if he could have been a second or third round pick.

There is really nothing about his play at quarterback processing the game through and making decisions that screams 'franchise' passer.

If he didn't run like a 1,000 yard running back there would be no interest in him.

The NFL has tilted towards 'uber' athleticism at quarterback but you still have to be able to work within a system and be productive distributing the ball from the pocket consistently.

The Chicago Bears? Chicago hasn't had a franchise quarterback as long as I have been watching football.

Why would I want their discards?

I sat in RFK on a wood plank bench with a self provided cushion to watch the Redskins for years.

It doesn’t matter when you win.

All of the outside crap matters a lot when you are losing 45-15 at home and the only things on the mind of many in attendance is red zone for fantasy scores and the expected traffic home.

But glad to see that Harris is doing some of what Snyder and Cooke Jr. failed to do.

So FedEx will no longer be FedEx. That is going to take some getting used to.

Also, when asked about his view on the talent within the current roster he only mentioned 4 players: Robinson, McLaurin, Allen, and Payne.

BGO Field?

The Om Bourbon Bar
Boone’s Mead Lounge
Canadian Hogs Bacon and BBQ
Neophyte’s Texas Two Step Dance Hall
Silent Threat’s Fantasy Football Lobby

The possibilities fellas…..

Interesting.

I've seen no mention of the Strength and Conditioning coaches in this offseason coach search and no one is listed on the team coaching page for that position. I know the team used to list the guys holding those positions.

It’s now 2 years in a row that the strength coaches have received sterling grades from the players.
