Random Commanders Thoughts

Amazing draft in 1979.

Washington had no picks in Rounds 1-3 and only 5 picks overall but came away with Warren in Round 4, Milot in Round 7 and Monte Coleman in Round 11, along with Neal Olkewicz as an undrafted rookie free agent.

That's 4 Super Bowl starters and 2 players in Warren and Coleman that played 15 years in the NFL.

This is cool

This is awesome. It is cool seeing Schlereth there since I gathered he didn't exit on the best of terms. He's been critical of the team over the years, which based on the team's performance he's been right. But seeing him involved in any capacity mentoring the younger guys is good. The guy overcame a lot of injuries in his career and can speak of perseverance.

Who else is there? I recognized Doug Williams, Gary Clark, Brian Mitchell, Doc Walker, Mark Mosley, Fred Smoot, Mark Schlereth, Santana Moss. There are a few faces I recognize, but can't put a name to them.

Schlereth always talked mad shit about the team since leaving, honestly surprised they asked him to participate.

Ken harvey, Mark Moseley (I think that's what the name tag says) and Schlereth...

Team will debut the new Team song at the Panthers pre-season game. They will have a season long campaign to include fan participation to select a team mascot and the new mascot will be announced at the Week17 Browns game.

I’m on record against both ideas but these guys are gluttons for punishment so… let the snark begin!

I'll say this much for them, they are determined. That is for sure.

Determined for what is now the question...

The fight song and the mascot are only going to work if we win. Them maaaaaybe the fans will buy in and sing it.
But... I do wonder if the tune is the same, if every time they strike up the band we'll be hearing the crowd singhing HTTR instead.

And if we don't start winning regularly...it's gonna be a car-crash.

The argument can be made... I think we have more speed than San Fran but Kittle is top 3 at his position to give them the nod at no. 5

Looks like they darkened the Gold.. these colors are a much closer depiction of our old colors

Rivera at his presser yesterday speaking about having former players at practice-

“We want our guys to kind of get a feel and understanding for what it meant to be a… uh…uh…excuse me for saying it… but a Washington Redskin.”
