What a crazy fall from grace for that team. From legit contender to the worst projected team in football in just a couple of seasons.

Cautionary tale.
 
Texans are dead in the water.

The team allowed the coach to trade away all of the team's prime talent surrounding Watson and now Watson himself is in trouble.

What I don't get is teams still go to the New England tree to find coaches and front office personnel despite the fact these guys with few exceptions crash and burn.

Belichick is the brains behind NE and the other actors there implement what HE determines are the right moves and correct strategies.

I laughed when Detroit hired Matt Patricia who had no business being a head coach. When you are the defensive coordinator on a Belichick team that in essence means you are a quality control assistant because Bill programs the defense and has for 40 years.

Good luck to Houston importing another ex-New England personnel executive.
 
So there’s a possibility that Jay-z could become a shareholder....FWIW

 
Wonderful. Just what we need. Another front-runner who will want to 'spice' things up with the signing of big name but aging players.
 
I mean, who cares... if there is one thing we know about Snyder, it's that he is not going to give any minority owners one iota of power.
 
Jay-Z is a VERY successful businessman and may see this franchise as a way to get his feet in the NFL and make more money. The notion he is going to do anything else is just pure speculation.
 
If Dan can't make a splash one way, he'll find another.

Even if he owns 5% of the team he will be out there front and center at games and on TV using the club as a vehicle to further enhance his brand.

Snyder is not going to get the better of him like he did the previous minority owners, who were all media greenhorns.

Your generalizations and assumptions are not valid. You have no idea what he will do just because you saw some videos he made for a different career.

I guess you gotta have something to complain about though since the team is doing well. Might as well be a man who is an investor.
 
The point is, it doesn’t matter who he is - except for the fact that he’ll be a minority owner (and we’re arguing about a social media rumor btw). He can have whatever persona or goals or background he wants. He would have zero decision-making authority.

That is literally the only salient fact :)

Mike - I was responding to another poster who indicated Snyder would necessarily take advantage of any minority owners and marginalize them.

I was simply disagreeing with that opinion.

So, I was not claiming I was providing any 'inside' information, simply my impressions based upon seeing Jay-Z in action in NY in several of his ventures to date.

This is a board for posting 'free' opinions - unless someone comes on as Chris Cooley did on ExtremeSkins years ago and identifies themselves - it is my assumption we are talking about opinions here not 'insider' facts.

That said, you have no idea what I do. I could own a multi-million dollar business in the entertainment industry or I could be a homeless guy living in his car that goes into a coffee shop to get free Wi-Fi to post here.

I see posts from you over time that seem to me to be 'absolutes' in that you KNOW what is going on or KNOW a certain player can't play or won't be able to play, etc. as if you are an assistant NFL coach or front office executive. Again, I take that as opinion.

If I am mistaken and you ARE an insider, please let me know and I will look at your posts in a different light.
 
Once again twisting what we were talking about to try and justify what you really said.

You can try to do that all you want, but it is easily spotted.
 
Let’s get back to football discussion and I’m irritated I even have to say that.
 
Coach Rivera on Young

He does things the way you’re supposed to. He does things the way a leader does. When he practices, he tried to be first at everything. When he’s in the workouts, he tries to be first with the workouts. Then, when we’re in the game he’s constantly going with energy on the field, comes to the sidelines, they go through the corrections, and then as soon as they’re done, he’s back over by the coaches, cheering on the offense, cheering on the special teams. And when somebody makes a play he’s one of the first guys to greet them. It doesn’t whether it’s a defensive guy, an offensive guy, or special teams, he’s always doing those things. And so when one of your better players does those types of things, it doesn’t who they are, everybody starts to react. He’s got an infectious personality, to its very positive. It doesn’t matter the score, he always believes we have a chance and that gets down to his teammates.
