Interesting...for S&Gs I looked up a few other similar players' heights and weights to see how he compared, here how he fits in:

Holliday 5' 5" 170
Beasley 5' 8" 180
Williams 5' 10" 184
Welker 5' 9" 185
Moss 5' 10" 189
Sproles 5' 6" 190
Amendola 5' 11" 195
 
Count me in the 'it's the offense and defensive lines' camp.

When you have quality lines you are rarely 3-6 unless your qb is on IR.

Yeah, I was thinking that too. When you throw a fade (EDIT: corner route ... whatever :) ) into the end zone you don't really stop and look around. You know you're gonna throw it and you throw it.

Also, it's tough to judge Polumbus from that still. It's a quick throw so he knows he doesn't have to hold his block very long. Also, he could be shoving his man back behind the pocket. I haven't watched the game again (and I'm not gonna) so I don't know.

None of that is to say Polumbus has been playing well or anything. I just don't know that we can make any judgements based on that still.

Yes, Reed was open. But by the time he has made him move Griff already has his arm cocked and is in the middle of throwing the ball. I can blame Griff for locking in on receivers sometimes, but this time he was going for the intended target (I think of the Gnats game TD to Moss) and therefore it made Reed pointless.

I'm sure thats not a very popular opinion though...but Monday Morning QBs are always out there.

I agree 100%. The route was there, and the play we executed til the very final step...literally. Moss couldn't get his foot down. The real question I have with that play is, why is Moss the one running the fade. I want to see Reed or Hank out there making that play, not Santana Moss

Well, when you see an athlete like Jordan Reed matched up against a LB pre-snap, I'd personally call an audible. But yeah, it was pretty bang-bang otherwise.

Yeah, I feel you.. Again I'm nitpicking because as far as execution can go, that's as close as you can get. That honestly is a play that I don't think you can truly criticize. The play call worked, the matchup worked, the ball was where it needed to be. Could you have done things different? Sure, but of all the things to look at and critique, that play probably has the fewest 'problems' of the whole second half.
 
Looking at the still shot, whoever the WR is coming from the right is going to be breaking open as well. This is a film room gem here... so much going on. I wish I could get my hands on more stills like this.

You can...you just have to purchase the all-22 film from NFL.com. I think its part of their replay package.

EDIT: Can't see a defender on the WR, could be right in his hip pocket just outside of the frame. Not sure if he'd be open or not. Reed, on the other hand, has at least a step on the LB, who isn't even looking for the throw.

yeah but breaking to the inside without a defender over the top leads me to believe the receiver would be open enough to catch the pass... nobody said the outside receiver was any more open, just making a personal observation

i spent the first few weeks ridiculing the offense and defending the defense.

now it's like bizzaro world and our offense is the only thing to be happy about and the defense makes you question how a coach 3 1/2 years into implementing his system could be coaching such a terrible defense.
 
Man, I do like Amerson, but I really wish the Skins had taken a chance on Tyrann Mathieu at that spot instead.
 
The Redskins have limited draft picks. Matthieu simply had too many red flags to ignore.
