ST, I'm with you. I do NOT think AlMo ends up close to the back that AD has been, but I think from here on out, he is just as good, and will be better, longer.
No way we trade Morris for Peterson. Backs, even elite backs, generally run out of gas around 2500 carries. AP will be over 2000 at the end of this year, so we could expect maybe two more starting-quality years out of him after that.
The Dolphins thing is getting real wacky. I'm am going to reserve any judgement and/or further comment on it until it all shakes out. All I'll say at this point is I'm glad that's not happening here.
While I agree with the sentiment about a "hypothetical" trade for AP...remember, Shanny is willing to give up (trade) a top flight RB for a position of need so we'd never see it for another RB. We've seen it with CP and Bailey. The only difference with the Butler is he is extremely likable when CP was a bit of a prima donna.
But in bizarro world a straight up trade for CP? I pull the trigger in an instant. He would rush for 2k every season in the ZBS.
The more we hear about the Dolphin saga, the more it looks to be WAY overblown, by people who don't know what they're talking about, but simply can't stop running off at the mouth.
Maybe so but all I've heard so far is SPIN, no denials of the things Martin has said happened. So I couldn't care less if every single person RI knows comes out and says "he's a good guy for the most part", I'm not buying it. Good guys don't have his track record, don't get voted dirtiest player in the league, leave a mile wide trail of enemies behind them or pull the crap he pulled with Martin. He's most definitely NOT a good guy and o me all this has done is exposed the lame, infantile practice of Hazing in the locker room. Ask Rich Gannon about hazing or any number of other proven winners and leaders who have excoriated the whole thing.
Hah. It draws looks from some people in the office and when I visit clients. They're all wearing slacks and button up shirts, some with ties, the women wear blazers and stuff. I come in in jeans, tennis shoes, and a football jersey. Sometimes I even wear my hat.
I think that's a 'sayonara' for this team in 2013. Of course I hope they win all 7 games that are left on the schedule, but I am now looking realistically at a 6 win season, and that's assuming Griffin stays upright and Garcon/Morris/Reed stay healthy.
