Random Commanders Thoughts

Is the team even interviewing GM candidates or is it just a ruse? Bruce is slower than a sloth on ambien with this shiz.

I think I remember hearing nothing would happen until after the draft. If they interview people that are currently in the media or in other front offices, they may have inside information from various discussion with GMs. After the draft, that's less of a concern. Also, you don't want to bring in a new guy before the draft then tell him he has no say. You don't change your draft strategy/board this late. That's why the reports have been that the Redskins are still using McCloughan's draft and free agent list.

I don't know how quickly it will happen after the draft, but I don't expect anything between now and then. If there is any news before then, it will likely be an internal hire.

I think there would be little point in hiring someone right before the draft as others have stated. Honestly, I'm not 100% sure this owner and front office believes it needs a GM? And I could see that being the case regardless of what actually transpired with McCloughan. I think the fan outcry since the Shanahans left town was 'We need a real football GM' and Snyder decided to give the fans what they wanted. Now that it's imploded, I don't sense they are any rush to rehire one, which may reflect their commitment level to the idea in the first place.

I had already forgotten we were supposedly looking for another GM. I'm just assuming it's Bruce again now and forever until I see otherwise. I'm more anxious about Cousins getting a long term deal at this point.

... especially now that Bruce is the GM. :)

Playing a home game on Thanksgiving.
Yes. Playing a home game on Thanksgiving is an advantage. Sure, there are exceptions. The worst being that you have to play on a short week.

But so does your opponent. And they have to travel. Advantage home team.

Win that game, and now you have a mini bye week late in the season. Which can come in handy if your regular bye week comes early in the year.

True.. as is Dallas... as always. Shoot if Dallas hosts Philadelphia may as well call Thanksgiving this year "NFC East" day (although the Lions wouldn't like it that much <grin>.

I just wasn't sure what was being referred to when Ax referred to the "crackheads" .. <grin>

Sorry Sandy. Crackheads is about as clean a description of that team of criminal garbage from Dallas that I could muster. lol

They are all that is evil and vile in the world. :)

Oh I don't disagree Ax... (I should never read or reply to posts on no sleep <grin>)... I for some reason thought you were thinking we were hosting Dallas, which of course I know you know better...but that's where my head went with no sleep. Yup Dallas in their infinite wisdom thought they were "sacrificing" when they agreed to always play on T'giving if they were the home team, when we all know it's an advantage. With our luck, we'll play Monday night before T'giving.. (please please don't let that come true). But the schedule gods have never looked down favorably on us with these things. OF course we will know in less than 8 hours or so...

UGH! I was up there last year for Thanksgiving and will be there next year. But this year, we are heading to my in-laws. Why couldn't they wait a year to do this.

I hate when we play Thursday games.
I hate when we play nationally televised games.
I hate the Giants.
I hate the NFL.

That is all.

Agree with all of above, but the only reason I "like" the Thursday or nationally televised is because then I can see them. ;) Now, let's say hypothetically, if those nationally-televised games weren't "so" and if they were a regular say, 1 pm game on Sunday that was only shown in the immediate DC area.. if you could guarantee a win.. I'll give up the part where I get to see it ;)
