So, my office is looking to get some knowledge base software. We need to get our SOPs organized a bit better, and have an easily searchable knowledge base. What kind of applications are you all using for this? We have access to a few things already, like RedMine and Sharepoint, but there is resistance to those from some, and we're looking for more ideas.

We currently use SolarWinds' Web Help Desk for our ticketing system, and it has some built in FAQ usage, but the application itself is so unreliable that we don't want to count on it for our knowledge base. We will probably be changing ticket systems within a year.

Thanks for any ideas and knowledge that you guys share :D

what is the main resistance behind sharepoint? That is what most companies I have worked for are using now and it seems stable and simple enough to use.

I agree, I have been pushing for sharepoint. Unfortunately, my supervisor thinks there will be difficulties. My experience with it is limited, though, so I don't have as many counter-arguments to supply.

yeah, there is always difficulties in implementing new software. Some don't want to learn because they fear change, some don't pay attention and read the training.

that's a tough spot to be in. unfortunately I don't have anything else to offer but that. Good luck, bud.
