REDSKINS MAKE ROSTER MOVES

LOUDOUN COUNTY, Va. – The Washington Redskins announced today that they have made the following roster moves:

- The team waived cornerback David Jones and long snapper Justin Snow.
- The team signed cornerback Domonique “D.J.” Johnson to their active roster from the practice squad.
- The team activated long snapper Nick Sundberg from the Reserve/Injured list (designated for return).
- The team announced that Reserve/Physically Unable to Perform tackle Jammal Brown has been cleared for practice.

Jones (6-0, 197) spent the preseason with the Redskins after signing with the team as a free agent on July 24, 2012. He was released by the Redskins on Aug. 31, 2012, before joining the team again on Sept. 25, 2012. Jones played in five games with the Redskins this season and was credited by the coaching staff with seven tackles.

Snow (6-3, 245) signed with the Redskins on Sept. 11, 2012. He played in eight games with the team this season, appearing in his 200th career regular season game against Carolina in Week 9.

Johnson (6-1, 191) signed to the Redskins’ practice squad on Oct. 23, 2012. He has appeared in 10 NFL games, all with the New York Giants, playing in three games in 2009 and seven games in 2010.

Sundberg (6-0, 251) was placed on the Reserve/Injured list and designated for return on Sept. 11, 2012, after having played the second half of the team’s Week 1 win at New Orleans with a broken arm. He has appeared in 33 career NFL games, all with the Redskins.

Brown (6-6, 317) is in his third season with the Redskins after originally joining the team by trade on July 19, 2010. The veteran of 85 career NFL games was placed on the Reserve/Physically Unable to Perform list with a hip injury on Aug. 27, 2012.

All expected moves. Good to get Sundberg back.

I was really hoping to see that they released the pet squirrel.

Oh well, there's always tomorrow.

No signature move to send any kind of message. These moves were all expected.

Still completely confused why Banks is on this roster. I love the story, and you know it's cool rooting for the small guy to make it, but this team is in no shape to keep this going. We NEED that roster spot.

Yep. If for nothing else to to get Kyle to stop forcing Banks the ball in the redzone. Truly bizarre.

So, basically, the Joneses are no longer keeping up with us.
The Snow has dissolved and disappeared.
The D.J. is in the house, and hopefully add some rocking and celebration.
Saint Nick has arrived just in time for Christmas.
And finally, we get to see "what can Brown do for you"

DeAngelo has 2 as well. Obviously not a measure of talent. Not saying he's not, I have never heard of the guy, just saying you can't base anything on it. They let him go for a reason.

Tomorrow, Brown takes the field and trips over a sprinkler head and is lost for the season.

Forget the Redzone...how bout AT ALL. He can't break tackles, can't run north/south, and is useless in traffic. The only time he's good is when he's in open space, and even then he's a liability to fumble.

Yep. I can understand getting Banks the ball on a WR screen, or better yet a slip screen, but that's about it. And given that whenever he is on the field we try to get him the ball, its pretty easy for D's to key in on him.

If we have to play Banks, he should only be on the field between the 20 yard lines, where he has space for his speed to make a difference, and he should not see the ball more than a third of the time.

Banks is a total waste of space.

But, it was a Shanahan decision, so it gets as much time as necessary to prove right.

The one move we should have made weeks ago, and for the life of me can't figure out why we haven't, is putting Garcon on IR. Now, half way through the season, he may need season ending surgery ?

Who'd a thunk it...:rolleyes2:

I like that we have a bigger cb on the roster. Anyone know how good this kid is?
