LOUDOUN COUNTY, Va. – The Washington Redskins announced today that they have signed the following players to their practice squad:

DL Jason Shirley

Shirley, they can't be serious ?!?!

Yeah, the nui guy Hoomanawanui, that's who.

I am torn on that final LB spot. Yes, Wilson had a good camp and played well in the preseason but he's also the final backup at age 31 on a unit with younger starters on the outside.

I don't know that I might not have kept White at age 23 and having invested a draft pick in him.

Wilson like Chris Clemons, another ex-Redskin, is an NFL nomad.

Besides playing in Canada 1 season, and a little time in Philly's camp last year, he's really only played for the Skins so I don't think the nomad title fits. Wilson has fresh legs being he's never been a starter, and plays every snap like it's the last, so his age doesn't bother me as depth. If half the team played with his enthusiasm, we'd be far better off. He's under sized, and under skilled some say, yet finds a way to make things happen.

Great motor, and high character guy. I'm happy to have him back as depth, and have no doubt he'll get used in some special situations too.

Oh, and he has a great smile

TE Michael Hoomanawanui has been signed to the Practice Squad. Best name ever, if nothing else.

Well, that was fast. Hoomanawanui is being signed to the Patriots active roster. Apparently 17 TEs is not enough, and they needed to raid our PS for another one.

Geez, the Pats are becoming the new Oakland Raiders, when it comes to signing both Ex-Redskins, and washed up players.
