PFT: Washington may be in the Mariota business

Romo is a overrated jackass for being paid 100 million and Griffin is doing as well as he can for being injured and only making 4 mil.

How's that?

Oh yeah...**** dallass!!

When are you going to stop giving Griffin a free pass and start to smell the foul coffee that has been brewing on him the past two plus years?

I am a fan of the team but I am no player's buttboy.

BT...I think many people see Griffin's faults. what they perceive is a reaction on the part of some that goes too far in the other direction to the point of obvious bias and unreflective neglect of context. a pov, as it were, that is neither balanced nor nuanced. moreover, some disagree with the notion that Griffin is unsalvageable. and so...strong personalities that abound on BGO...the volleying goes back and forth.

^^^ Haha haven't you learned to stop hatin on Mike's blind love affair BT? He is who he is and we each are who we are. Its frustrating that all others can't see it how I see it, but "player's buttboy?" Nah he's all team all the time. Gotta give him credit for that.

Not gonna get there until we see some quality line play in front of him BD. He has a lot of work to do no doubt but 2.3 seconds isn't cut it for drop back time before being hit. Brady, Manning, Rogers and Wilson all would look abysmal with that kind of protection. I can't believe it's even a debate point, our O line is laughably bad.

I think if you look at how fast guys like Manning get the ball out that's the reason their average lines aren't exposed more than they are.

But the combination of a qb that freezes and doesn't deliver on time and a line that matador blocks is obviously a recipe for failure.

And that's what we have here.

Griffin would need the 1991 line with Lachey and Co. To give him the kind of team he requires to be effective.

Just isn't going to happen.

The Redskins IMO are going to draft OL but you can't expect HOF talent to walk in the door.

Who are Luck's all-pro linemen? 😊

Where is his franchise back?

He seems to be accomplishing a lot without an all-star cast.

Luck is a total stud. He takes a beating behind an awful OL, but stands in and delivers time and again.

The question in Indy has to be ... which comes first, putting an adequate line in front of Luck and thus enjoying another decade-plus of contention, or continue to allow the kid to carry the water by himself and see him ground down and knocked out in short order.

Right there with you BT. For the record, how many times was Griffin benched for poor performance?

I already posted the stats that really matter as an indicator of future results. Third down conversions was once of them.

How did our team rate 1-32 on third downs? Anyone? And let's not bring Gruden into that. Let's only look at Robert's 3rd down conversion ratio, Kirk's, Colt's etc. Keep the analysis in perspective and relatable for context. Each QB had a hand in the overall team ranking.

The conversion ratio mitigates the inflation of offensive performance that yards have a tendency to do, on both sides of the ball. The conversion ratio is applicable to both sides of the ball. When we can't get off the field on defense, and when we can extend drives with conversions, no amount of yards will lead to a victory. That's where the points per game comes in. That is the defining stat that drives the record, and third down conversions is directly relatable to points per game.

Are you calling me a butt boy because I won't ever allow a comparison against a redskins by a cowbum?

If so, that's your own stupidity and not mine. You wanna talk Russell Wilson we can do that honestly but if you think romo is a good qb have more issues than silly name calling I'm afraid.

Several of you are getting extended breaks if this keeps up.

Fair warning.

Coach Whizzinator of the Titans just said he planned to take Mariota with the #2 pick, if he's there.
He even took it a step further, and said he would automatically be the Day 1 Starter, if they take him.

But it sounds to me like he's just trying to drum up interest, and value, in a trade for the #2

I just read an article where the Skins say "we take the best player on the board at 5"

I think EVERYONE is trying to drive up false interest in hopes of getting a big trade for their spot.

I do think we are going to take someone there UNLESS that big trade is brought forward. It's all going to depend on what happens come April 30. Listening to some local radio, there is an interest about more then just Mariota at 5. Even if it's not a blockbuster type deal, it wouldn't be out of the orbit to drop 4 - 5 spots so someone can take a guy like Gregory.

To me, qb is not the biggest issue. If we went another year with who we have it wouldn't hurt as much as not addressing the line

I there's not arguing from me there, and personally, I don't think Mariotta is the answer. The O-Line absolutely needs to be better in order for anyone to come in here and have the best opportunity to be successful. I still think we should take a game changer at 5 if we don't trade down. Kevin White, Leonard Williams (if he falls), or an absolute game changing OLB/DE if McLoughan is sold on him.

The good news is, I actually have confidence in the guy making the decision, something I haven't been able to say for a long time.

Really? He was out of the rams game and Griffin was in due to a neck injury. Grudens arrogance and lack of wanting to play Griffin was why he risked colt 6 days later and almost got him hurt for good on the first drive.

You don't win people over by acting just like those you try to discipline. You end up looking just like them and lose all credibility.
QBs play injured all the time
