What the **** are you talking about? I am pissed, yes. I am pissed about Gruden's comments to the press that came out Friday. You can put a stop to preferential treatment and whatever else behind closed door, like a professional does, or you can do what Gruden did, and what he got so upset at Griffin for doing earlier in the week. Gruden publicly buried Griffin. Buried him.

I know you love your boy McD, and that's cool, but this was a **** up of epic proportions. Gruden pretty much just wrote Griffin's ticket out of town, AND his own.

I agree with you on the public aspect of it... but with a QB who is obviously so driven by media, social media, and public opinion, we have NO IDEA what conversations have been had behind closed doors. Gruden is our coach and, at least according to the reports today, is the first one in a long time to have Snyder's backing. Today's reports have come from 'multiple sources' and have been confirmed by multiple outlets. Do I like the public drumming? Absolutely not. But I also don't like what's happened here over the last 15 years. THIS is different. It's not fun, not fun at all, but it's a direction we haven't gone in. Gruden isn't stupid. He's been around this game, he's been in multiple leagues on multiple levels. I can't imagine he's a dumb guy. This is all done for a reason.

Here's what SHOULD have gone down. Gruden and Allen have a chat with Griffin that boils down to: listen kiddo, any more games like the Tampa game without some games in the opposite direction means you can kiss your dreams of an extension with the Washington Redskins goodbye. Gruden could even add that at this point, he doesn't feel like Bob is the future QB for the Skins, but he will give Griffin the opportunity to prove him wrong. All this can be done privately, drama-free. If Bob chooses to whine to the press, or involve the press at any time, that is pretty good confirmation that he is NOT the QB of the team.

Put all of it on Griffin's shoulders, in other words. But no. We have a dumbass amateur coach who decides to dramatize everything, and make it easier for Bob to give excuses. After that bullshit on Friday, can anyone be 100% certain that Gruden is giving Bob a "fair" shot? Are we sure he is tailoring the plays to Bob's skillset? Making a gameplan Robert can execute? I'm not, that's for sure. Isn't it possible Gruden has already made his decision and will now make sure that Bob fails so he can get rid of him? This team is so drama-filled, my middle school daughter is embarrassed for us.

All Gruden had to do was keep his mouth shut, and let Bob prove it on the field. If he can't cut it, it will show itself the rest of the season. But no. Boy Genius has to create more drama. Idiot.

The latest story coming out of our locker room is exactly what we need. A head coach who is treating his underperforming QB the same as he treats the rest of the locker room. He's apparently got the power to bench Griffin if he's not performing well (not sayin i want it to happen, but i do want the coach to have the power to do it) and an obvious backing of Gruden from Snyder. THIS IS WHAT WE NEED folks. I'm sorry. What more do you want to happen?

I'm shocked that he came out and said those things. It reminded me of something Rex Ryan would do. Not Jay Gruden.

I can only guess that there was in incredibly strong reason for doing so.

Today we hear that the owner will stop doing something that was apparently pissing off some of the players. That's a start.

Before this season began, I think everyone would have agreed on some common traits we all would have desired in new HC:

1. One that wins. We don 't have that yet.
2. One that stands up to Snyder if he's interfering, intentionally or not. We have that.
3. One that will treat all players equally. Forget where they were drafted. We certainly have that.
4. One that won't quit and give up. One that will continue to try and win games. We have that.

Aside from the winning record, we have what we have what we wanted.

I don't like the airing crap out to the media part. But maybe that's what was needed to finally clean up this crappy organization.

And maybe both of them are gone next season. Maybe that's what we need too?

Lol i'm sorry but i disagree. Different strokes for different folks. Look at Bruce Arians in Arizona. He had a piece on Fox NFL Sunday this morning and his mentor is Bear Bryant. Watch his press conferences... he doesn't pack punches and doesn't care what people think of his statements. Would it be IDEAL for us to not deal with the drama? Sure.... but a coach has to understand his team. Understand which guys need hands held, and which ones need to get knocked down a few pegs.

I agree that it absolutely SUCKS to deal with this crap. Is it going to work? Dont know, but I'm not going to castrate a head coach because I dont agree with his tactics. What we do know is we spent a lot of resources on a QB who was successful in a system that was clearly not good enough to maintain a winning format with the personnel we currently have. What I also know is that for the entire tenure of Dan Snyder his mantra is that he favors players to the detriment of the team and coach. Is that happening with Griffin? I dont know. I do know that from day 1 Griffin has been reported to be seen at dinner and social events with Snyder and when there's smoke, there's usually fire. Shanahan was supposed to change that but Shanny stopped caring about the Redskins and started caring about paving a road for Kyle to be successful well before he was run out of town. (That last statement is purely opinion, not saying it's documented).


If this crappy situation is the first step in the direction of letting the football people deal with the football decisions, and the head coach having the power he needs to build HIS team, then so be it. We cant do this bass akwards nonsense where we trade in this nice new car for another one 2 years down the road and carry over a ton of negative equity.

Ridiculous. Aside from the fact that we've heard this about 20 other players.....where's Seastrunk again.....his injury issues make it highly unlikely that he'll even last another five.

Pretty sure the reports coming out, whether you like it in the public eye or not, screams the buck stops with Gruden.. whether it's true or not is yet to be determined, only time will tell.
