Patrick Mahomes may be forced to limit his phone time due to bad service during training camp, but there’s one person he always makes sure to text — his wife, Brittany Mahomes.
The Kansas City Chiefs quarterback, 30, revealed his communication priorities during a press conference on Tuesday, August 25, while discussing Washington Commanders tight end Zach Ertz, whom Mahomes previously praised for helping him through his ACL recovery.
“St. Joe’s dorm rooms, man, you don’t get a lot of text messages,” Mahomes joked, referring to the rooms at Missouri Western State University in St. Joseph, Mo., where the Chiefs hold training camp. But Brittany, 30, is the exception.
“I just try to make sure I text Brittany,” he added. “If I text Brittany, I’m usually in a good spot.”

Mahomes certainly has plenty keeping him occupied as he prepares for his return to the field following the ACL injury that cut his previous season short.
Chiefs head coach Andy Reid recently told CBS Sports at the team’s training camp that Mahomes has been spending “seven hours a day” working on his recovery.
“He just goes,” Reid said. “He kept playing, he gets his rehab taken care of before and after practice, you know how he is.”
Now a veteran on the Chiefs roster as he heads into his 10th NFL season, Mahomes has also revealed that becoming a father has given him a new perspective on his time at training camp.

Speaking to reporters on Saturday, August 8, the quarterback said he has learned “to enjoy the little moments and enjoy the time at camp,” according to NFL.com.
Mahomes and Brittany share three children: daughter Sterling Skye, 5, son Patrick “Bronze” III, 3, and daughter Golden Raye, 20 months.
Brittany and the kids have remained firmly in Mahomes’ corner throughout his recovery and hugely successful career. Most recently, his agency, Equity Sports, announced via X on June 10 that the quarterback had signed “the largest contract in NFL history… yet again,” with the deal valued at $504.75 million.
