Official Skins/Steelers Game Day Thread

Well...Colt only has a 7 point deficit to overcome. :)

3 observations in the first half:

1. Jason Campbell still does not look good.

2. Brian Orakpo looks fantastic.

3. 1st string Offensive line was strong.

THAT was a great defensive play.

Looking again at it......it was played almost perfectly.

He doesnt have much of an arm.......but DT needs to do something to help him

I'm not upset about that one.

I was just teasing Blondie. Hindsight is always 20/20 and as Joey T mentioned that was also on Thomas.

Plus, for a number of reasons Collins seems to be a lot more comfortable running the offense than JC. One has to wonder how much rope JC gets in the preason before Zorn gives serious thought to Collins as the starter.

I think in previous years it's simply been lack of pass rushing talent, E. QB's have simply had too much time and too many lanes---no secondary can hold up in the NFL w/o a pass rush.

Clearly that's what Cerrato is trying address this year with AH, Orakpo & Jarmon. What will remain to be seen is if Blache adjusts his conservative schemes enough, and the new pass rush talent is good enough, to turn that around and start forcing QB's to throw when they HAVE to, instead of when they WANT to. That's what other teams routinely do to us, and why Redskins games look like they do, with the Skins always on their own end and playing from behind.

I'd like to think that first series, where the rush was NUTS and swarming Batch, was Blache playing with his new toy and turning them loose a bit, and that everything that's happened since---no rush, no coverage, no success---is Blache reverting to his usual preseason formula of not giving a damn about results and just evaluating individual players.
 
If Marcus Mason doesn't make this team, I'm going to be bummed. What more can the guy do? Find a place for him, Zorn.

No ****. He should make the team on effort alone - but there are only 53 spots. There's the rub.

When Rock makes a run on 4th down like that, it is going to be difficult for Mason to make it unless they keep 5 RB's.
 
I'm watching the game on delay.

After watching Leftwich last year and Batch tonight, I wish our starting qb was as good as Pittsburgh's second string.
 
Had the same thought watching Batch vs Campbell, Chris. Hate to admit it, but I did.
 
Zorn woke up this morning and decided he wants to be called Ground Jim.
 
Rock says he is in better shape this year than ever in the past. Quicker and in better shape. I will be devastated if he is not here. He is truly showing tonight he can still do it.
 
Oh my! This doesn't bode well for young Colt! The coaches must really not like what they see in Colt Brennan. But I'll tell you what, Daniels just had a heck of a drive down the field.

Good for Chase. Zorn only let him throw on 3rd down when the Steelers knew it was coming, but he converted 3 times.
