Official 'It got blowed up what next?' Thread

They have to do a dual track because those coaching candidates are going to be snatched up quick. I can’t imagine they’ll impose a HC on a new GM but it will be more of a ‘here’s what we’re thinking’ negotiation/discussion. As Harris said, it’s not ‘ideal’ but I think it’ll get figured out.

agree completely

It was more of a rhetorical statement, than an actual concern... Harris said all the right things, and beyond that i'm going to give him the benefit of the doubt until he shows me he's incapable. It's hard to disconnect historically, but we're not talking about Dan Snyder anymore.

There is more time to corral a desired HC simply because of the scheduling particulars, no?

Yeah, I think that's true, Chris. I think you can put in requests now -- but can't interview anyone that's currently on a team until a certain point? Not sure, but I think so. For example, no other teams with head coach openings have actually had interviews yet either.

There are a number of openings but my guess is that the 'real' choices for these GMs/HCs are perhaps 2 or 3.

The Chargers, Titans and Raiders have ownership issues, whether it is a reluctance to spend money in free agency guarantees or poor decision-making by the CURRENT owner(s) such as Mark Davis with his last several hires.

Has anyone seen a list of prospective interviewees for team president?

They are clearly placing a high premium on filling these spots with the utmost speed

Chris, I wonder if Harris twists Myers arm and he stays on as Team President :)

I think his background in the NBA will not make him a threat to the incoming GM as retaining a former GM like Spielman or other may be.

Florio doesn't know what he is talking about.

A search committee interviews and provides an evaluation of candidates. Harris then makes the decision.

The new GM and HC will be reporting to Harris not to Magic Johnson or Mitchel Rales.

I don't see any 'nexus' of too many cooks in the kitchen telling these hires what to do.

When the lady on this video talks about Harris (sorry I don't know her), she talks about the Sixers and the Devils as if they are among the worst teams.

Checking the record the Sixers are a consistent 50 win team and before that they were down where the Wizards are now.

Likewise the Devils were torn down and rebuilt and a consistent playoff contender with a young superstar in Jack Hughes who is 22 years old to build around.

That doesn't sound too bad to me.

Unless this lady is saying that unless you produce 5-6 Super Bowls or 4-5 NBA titles like the Patriots and Warriors then you are automatically considered a shit owner.

Guys like Florio and Loverro are straight up haters of this franchise. Understand the vitriol towards Snyder but he’s no longer here and things have changed.
But those two keep playing the same tune.
Just two old hacks trying to remain relevant.

I have absolutely no idea who she ie either but that looks suspiciously like a Staubach jersey behind her. 🖕

Remember when Florio was adamant that Kirk Cousins was going to the 49ers? :poop:

Yeah, ‘ol Thom has certainly not missed a beat.

First off, what year was that created? That lady was railing on the Browns failures, but they are in the playoffs because they have a strong overall team that has overcome bad QB play. And they signed Flacco who has been great. Then she goes on about the 76ers, who have made the playoffs 6 straight years. And she criticizes the Devils, who have one of the two best young players in the league and are widely considered and up and coming team after making the playoffs last year. So her whole rant was just odd and sounded like it was done on information from 10 years ago.

As for Florio, he just wants to get under the skin of the fans. He basically admitted that. He also wants to show he was right about Belichick. So he’s going to harp on that. I also found it funny that he basically said he preferred the Snyder model of ownership. And that having other people in charge makes coaches not want to come. Yeah, coaches really like the meddling owner. Sure thing Mike.

Loverro wears a Ravens jersey and slippers around his house, he's that far up their butts :rotflmao:

If Bill Belichick is really coming to Washington it's funny we haven't seen ANY other information to indicate this.

Belichick is not on the list of candidates and there have been no discussions about a trade with NE, so Harris would have to interview ALL of these guys and then come out and decide NONE of them are qualified to be either GM or Head Coach.

Now, THAT would show a corrupted process.

Not the presence of a search committee to begin with.

LOL - good grief Florio is such a smug loser.

Florio amusingly enough may be getting fed information by Bill Belichick's people to create a market for him in his attempt to stay in New England.

His final press conference included his line that 'he could work within a re-energized structure', etc. - which to me means having a GM named by Kraft.

Whether Vrabel being available changes that dynamic at all we will have to see.

Let's face it - older legends coming to new teams or coming back to their old clubs - it's not a list with a lot of success stories on it.

Has anyone won a Super Bowl with a second team after winning with his first? A number of guys went back to the Super Bowl with a second team but didn't win or vice versa.
