Official Game Thread - Week 7 - Commanders @ Cowboys

Whitt may go, but we went to the NFCCG last year. I sincerely doubt there’s anything at all that Quinn could do to be fired by AP after this season unless he starts committing felonies.

Yeah firing DQ would be nuts. I’ve been impressed by his leadership. He really deserved coach of the year last year for inheriting a perennial loser and leading them to their best season in over thirty years. Also players love him.

Don’t get me wrong, I still have my doubts about the guy who blew a 28-3 lead in the Super Bowl, which is among the worst coaching performances I’ve ever seen, and this season has done little to assuage that worry. Still, we should stick with DQ for at least a few years. I like the guy, and I really hope he wins the big one here so he can live that down.

We need to remember the shit storm that we inherited after Rivera and our shitty former owner. We need stability and sustained growth

The more I think about it. I don't think this is a hard fix in 2026.

A. Draft a WR high.
B. Safeties in FA are generally cheap. Sign one.
C. Lattimore salary dump. Sign a FA corner.
D. Draft or sign a DE
E. Let Wagner go and sign a FA LB

I like the O line. Conerly should improve over time. I like the RB room. I think the interior of the D line is good. Could use another edge albiet Armstrong is coming along and ditto Martin.

I'd add the biggest plus is to for them to see they don't walk on water -- Peters, Quinn, Jayden. All are great at what they do. But it feels like it went to their head some -- more so Peters than anyone. Finlay said on his podcast yesterday that he heard from an NFL guy that he trusts, will see what Quinn and Petewrs do when they don't have a lucky horseshoe up their butt. I think they will react well to adversity but will see.

This is my line of thinking. Draft a WR in the first and find a FS in free agency. Poach some scouts from the Steelers because they can always find great receivers in the draft and we never seem to be able to do that. I have no idea what the market looks like but safeties are cheap and they absolutely need to find better safeties who actually make plays. Move on from Lattimore, obviously, and hope Amos develops into a #1, then find a 2.

But unless Sinnott has some magical transformation they need to find a younger TE in free agency as well.

I agree that with a few key FA pickups, drafting well and bringing back a number of the one year contract guys we can field a much improved team.

The problem that will be faces with is getting this team younger and faster can't be done in one year, especially if faced with a lot of one year contracts.

Your greatest point is Peters (and DQ) has received a giant wake up call!!!
