Official Game Thread - Week 7 - Commanders @ Cowboys

Absolutely. NFL should clean that rule up. "Oh his head bobbed too fast." Like, bruh what?

I mean, do we even use play action? Maybe every handoff shouldn’t be exactly what it looks like, may help

Good to see Luvu flying into the backfield and NOT overrunning the play. Nice stop.

Can’t wait to read everyone crying about that penalty going against us rather than them. Least favorite part about sucking is how everyone hyper fixates on the refereeing
I'm way ahead of you

Thats what happens when you run into 8 man boxes.
You will always run into an 8 man box if you can't make the defense hesitate. That only happens when they aren't sure what is going to happen. Our playcalling is not doing that, at all.

This isn't purely a "make them throw" situation. Dallas, for example - has not had 8-man boxes all of the time. The Bears, YES, did cheat quite a bit. Dallas is not. We are still predictable, and that is what is killing us more than anything else today.

Nope, it's like it's in the NFL history books but not in a game plan

Logan and Grant on their podcast predicted Dallas’ D coordinator wouldnt adopt the Bears template of stack the box, blitz, and play man because their D coordinator is stuck in his ways. They gussed wrong. Dallas is running the bears script

We need a 1st down WR screen to Lane.

So far two drops from receivers, alongside 2-3 uncharacteristic misses from Jayden. Plus predictable run calls on 1st down that are getting blown up. How exactly is anything supposed to work? We need to use PA passing and mix it up on first down. We need to get the ball quickly into the hands of guys who can get YAC without necessarily using screens. We need to attack the middle of a bad defense with TE’s who aren’t ancient decaying mummies.

Do we ever use the quick slant anymore

Unfortunately, we are not running the Panthers' script.

When even Eberflus is showing more ability to mix things up as DC…Whitt is in trouble

We should be slamming the quick slant to Lane + McCaffrey. For some reason they think McLaurin is the only guy who can produce off it which is nuts considering he’s mostly a body catcher

Agreed, it's like, WTF it works for everyone else

Well its fuckin bullshit that the nfl would have a play where they have to decide whether the head bob is slow and deliberate or just a little too quick.
It opens them up to criticism.
Theres shit all over the field now thats just like it, for example a "football" move after a catch.
Everybody used to know exactly what a catch is and now nobody does half the time.
And they used to be totally against mixing gambling and the sport and now they sell gambling like hot cakes.

The nfl brought this on themselves with introducing gambling and all the rule adaptations that leave half the calls wide open to interpretation, for example daks helmet coming off in thebl first quarter.
Id love to believe there's nothing nefarious going on and the game is still pure but it just doesn't feel that way anymore and it has nothing to do with us sucking, i call it out all over the league in almost every game.

I dont like buying into conspiracy theories but i truly believe the only thing more naive than buying into a ton of conspiracy theories is believing they're all fake.

Receivers all just stop and stand there so he throws it out of bounds
