Official Game Thread - Week 7 - Commanders @ Cowboys

We got a new medical staff last year when AP took over, what do they have to do with anything? Are you forgetting already that we were one of the healthiest teams in the league last year? We’re regressing to the mean, we were bound to suffer injuries and tweaks eventually. It’s bad luck and every team has their share at different times.
It's not about getting injuries. It's about the treatment and more so the time diagnosis. This has been multiple times we guys clearly have been on IR and they weren't. Don't act like because we have new ownership and Presidents who are doing well, doesn't also mean that they can't falter in some areas

What is interesting is that overall last year, they managed to keep the team mostly on the field, including the veterans like Wagner and Ertz. There was a lot of praise for the medical staff.

The one exception was Lattimore, but eh, maybe he was an impossible situation anyway.

The other part about stacking the box is you can generate more pressure. Quick pressure means you have to get rid of the ball faster. However, if you have inexperienced WRs, they often need an extra beat to get open.

Then the whole thing folds like a house of cards.
THIS is what decimated our last two offensive possessions before the fumble. After scoring on every possession in the second half, to that point, we suddenly weren’t able to move the football and the pressure was instant and constant.

Then of course, the fumble.

To be honest I think we are too banged up and they're going to be stronger plus it is in their home stadium. I really don't expect to win

🥲

Watching this Bengals vs Steelers game and it's crazy to see Flacco throw a 5 yard in cut and watch Higgins take off like a rocket to the house. That's why we need Terry back. Stuff like that is a game changer. I know people love Luke but he can't do that. Our yac is down alot this year without Terry, Dynami, Olamide, and Brown. We need more explosive yac besides Deebo who is hobbled himself right now. I do believe Bill will have some explosive plays this week in the run game. We need to get Lane in the open field more so he can use his return skills after the catch

Our QB is too good for me not to be glass half full. They are getting stronger but if both teams play their best, we are still the better team. Dak is awesome but if both QBs play their best, we are still the better team. We also have the better coaches. We just need to find the rhythm. We have always responded after a loss this year and for the first time all season, I think these guys sense the urgency that the playoffs are not guaranteed. You will see them try their best this week

Terry seems like a difficult injury to judge, we don’t know a ton about that situation.

Brown tweaked his injury when he started practicing again, it happens.

What’s the problem? Do you have a specific complaint about the medical staff that isn’t just you being unhappy that there are injuries, and that AP didn’t put players on IR for reasons we aren’t privy to?

Agreed about Lane.

There’s no reason to think McCaffrey can’t take a slant to the house once he’s utilized more, though, unless he turns out to be a mirage. Higgins isn’t a speed guy (and didn’t look particularly fast on that TD), while McCaffrey runs a 4.4 and effortlessly blazes out to the 40 yard line on kick returns.

Whether he’ll develop fully into a good WR is in question. But his ability to take a pass to the house really shouldn’t be. He could grow into that guy.

Is anybody watching this Bengals and Steelers game? 75% wide receivers and tight ends...which we are lacking sorely

Well, we have Ertz and then there's Sinnot, who they don't want to use in the pass game, even though the staff will talk about how high they are on him.

Starting to truly see who are the glass half full and the glass half empty people are.
What do you think I am, because I'm not entirely sure myself? :p

The lead up top this game feels a lot like the leadup to the San Diego game, right after we completely blew it against Atlanta. We had no shot against a team with a really good QB. Everybody picked the Chargers.

And we won.

It's kindof the same situation. Defense can't stop anybody, Dallas has a good offense....

I'm not sure what will happen, but I think anything can happen. Also, it's a division game, any they are generally entirely unpredictable.

The comically stoppable force vs the extremely moveable object

(I think our strange lack of desire to go for it on 4th down compared to last year is contributing to the less organic 3rd down play calling, and poorer outcomes. But Daniels and the O seems to be coming to life despite all that and despite the injuries, so hopefully we begin to improve in this category)

I think Deebo will play, but still worried he will be as ineffective as he was against the Bears. Armstrong looks to definitely be out against Cowboys, that really hurts. Terry is at least walking normally....

DQ just ruled Terry out. He's the only one but it doesn't mean that the other guys are a definite go. Sounds like Cosmi has a chance, depending on how things go today

Not feeling any good vibes. Dallas by 4.

But then again, I thought the Chargers would beat Washington.;)
