Official Game Thread - Week 6 MNF - Bears @ Commanders

Really hope our run game is hitting on all cylinders Monday night, because at some point much sooner than later defenses are going to catch on that Deebo is by far the most likely pass target. Even with his flashes, McCaffrey still only has 7 catches in 5 games. Ertz is basically a safety blanket. That's our current passing game.

Extremely disappointed that with McLaurin holding out and Brown hurt as usual, the team didn't do more during camp to strengthen the WR corps (i.e., trade). Chris Moore and Robbie Chosen are twin 32-y.o. slow guys with bad hands. Tay Martin is a younger version of those guys (tall. skinny, slow) with better hands, but he's never been very productive (note: Tee Martin is the Ravens QB coach. Our PS guy is Tay).

Would liked to have seen Commanders sign one of the available FA guys with proven productivity, like Tyler Boyd. Maybe D.J. Chark, although he's hurt almost as much as Noah Brown and even when healthy probably not much of an improvement, if any, over Moore/Chosen other than being younger/faster.

We've focused most of our frustration at Terry, but I have to admit Noah is also up there for me. He got hurt early in preseason and basically has been unable to get himself on the field. How long does it take to heal from a pull? This poor guy just can't get or stay healthy. He's basically been out since July.

I agree, but management should have realized this problem i stead of us fans. Brown has been hurt more than he has been on the field. Its sad. But I can't excuse TM while bashing Brown. TM asked for this as he was more interested in bending our FO over than being on the field and practicing with the team.

This is what happens with players that start smelling their own farts as opposed to actually being a team player. AP should've looked at other receivers than relying on the group we have. Brown? Wakes up, rolls out of bed, and stubs a toe. TM? Yeah, how's that whole won't practice thing going for you?

I certainly hope AP decides (if he wants to part with picks), grabs a WR first and foremost.

HTTR!

I mean Brown is what he is. There was a reason a guy with his talent was available on the open market He just can’t stay healthy.

Alot of people think that the blocking grades are vs. I was on the Bears board and they said that they have the best rated offensive line in the league and they were all clowning the grades because all of them and the coaches continually talk about how bad the line play has been which is why they just made that change

That sounds like the sort of discrepancy between grades/eye test that we used to experience when we had QB’s who would hold the ball

All in all this is one of the biggest moments I'm recent franchise history. Starting with last week against the Chargers, we have an opportunity to be the most talked about team in the league and Jayden has an opportunity to be the biggest star in the league. From the pretty much every game we have left is against teams currently with winning records or tied. The only losing records are the Giants who are maybe the most exciting team right now and the Dolphins but the game is in Madrid and it's stand alone. Literally starting last week we have 8 straight games either in Madrid, 2 on MNF, 2 on SNF, and the other 3 in the 2nd window on Sunday which will all be the game of the week.

We will be in everyone's face from last week until the end of the season in pretty much all marquee matchups. We have to take advantage of that opportunity. We got off to a great start last week but everyone is not sold due to the GB and Falcons game. Win big on Monday and everyone will be talking about the Dallas game. Jayden outplayed Herbert and should only get better every week. Outplay Caleb, then the possible current MVP in Dak, then you will have the whole Country watching us go to KC on MNF with a 5-2 record with Jayden looking to take the torch from Malholmes. Let's get healthy soon and make our run

Probably true because they also have a thread saying that Caleb again is leading the league in time he holds the ball before passing it which they thought would be different under Ben Johnson. They suck at running the ball also though which is another reason why they say that the grades are bs... Lol

For some reason, this game scares me a bit. Deebo being questionable and Ben's Johnson making Caleb look like a good QB so far, might make this a closer game than I would like! Hope Quinn has us ready to play tomorrow night! Hail!

WR for me is going to be a huge need this offseason. Brown (thinking he wont be brought back if a replacement is found)can't be counted on, not sure what TMs going to be like once he comes back. Lane and Luke still remain unproven. Deebo has, a little surprisingly, become a huge factor for this offense, i was unsure what he had left in the tank when he joined the team but hes proven worth the signing, love to have him back next year. Think this might be Ertz last year, Sinnot may step up but it still remains to be seen.

I hope we freaking skewer Ben Johnson and Caleb

Well, the Commanders never actually updated their website with the injury report (media fail) but they did release the injury report on X, so here it is.

Most of this we knew already. McLaurin and Brown being out was reported and has been discussed.

Cosmi's "doubtful" designation I read to be "out." But I'm not sure that's been stated anywhere.

I assume Deebo and CRod will play.

Here is the official Bear's injury report.

I really didn't expect anything more from Brown. He was coming off a kidney injury, and then was carted off the field in min-camps.

I don't have a ton of frustration with Peters, but I think he put too many eggs in the "veteran receivers" basket this season. I can't even remember all of them, but we brought in a whole bunch of veteran WRs who were mostly has beens, and I think the hope was one would stand out. None did, and here we are having to play Moore and elevate Tee Martin.

I'm more salty with Terry because more was expected, also there could be some correlation with a poor decision to hold-in and the fact he started slow and then got hurt.

I wasn't around this board during the off season and I no longer live in the area but I was wondering why the decision to choose Brown over Zaccheaus and even after that, how come we still didn't bring back Z anyways since he only signed for 1.5mil.

I understand that we had the young guys but none of them were proven and even at best case with the vets, both Deebo and Brown have mixed significant time due to injury and Terry is now 30 which is why you hesitated to pay him anyways. I understand letting Dyami walk since he got 10mil but Z only got 1.5...smh

I think they saw them as different positions.

However, there really wasn't a reason not to bring both of them back. That was one of the more odd things.

That said, I don't think OZ wanted to come back in his current role, which was going to be WR 4 or 5 at best after we traded for Deebo. I think he was looking for a spot where he would get more opportunities. Is that the Bears? I'm not sure.

This is spot on. He's a starter in Chicago, and even as their #3 OZ is averaging more targets per game than anyone on the Commanders except Deebo.

Here, he would have just been competing with Lane to be Deebo's backup.

It was the right bet to bring Noah back on his $3M deal
