Official Game Thread - Week 4 - Commanders @ Cardinals

Daniels continues like this and he’s legit mvp candidate. And Quinn becomes coach of the year candidate.
And Kliff becomes the hottest coordinator for a HC job next off season.

I hope he sticks around multiple seasons. But if the season continues like this… he might not.

My hope is he really likes being OC here, didn’t like being HC in AZ, and decides to stick with this

Super happy with him the last 2 games.

Kingsbury is probably good for at least another season or maybe 2. He really didn't seem to enjoy head coaching and it's not like he needs the money.

Kliff leaving is a tomorrow problem. It's also a good problem, because that means you had a good offense that year. We'll see!

A good subject to roll around on the pod for the fellas: Can the defense get better moving forward or did we just see their ceiling today?

The inability to stop the run will catch up to this team sooner or later.

Warmed my heart to hear the Let’s Go Redskins chant coming out of my tv speakers during the 4th quarter.

Baltimore might be a good test. 🫣

Washington might lose to Baltimore if it had a much stronger defense in any event. You are going to face teams that have been together for a number of years and are consistent contenders, if we do well against them great. But if we don't there are 11 other opponents we can be competitive to beat on the schedule.

Baltimore would probably already have 1 or 2 more Super Bowls if Patrick Mahomes didn't exist.

I am still of the mind that this year is still a development year. Everything else is gravy.

The job is to develop Daniels and the other pups. It is to see how the pieces meld and where we need to fine tune the roster rebuild. If by the end of the year, we all agree that Daniels is a franchise Qb, McCaffrey can fill the slot, Coleman can handle left tackle, Sinristal can hold up as the nickel corner or on the outside... this season is a success. Wins are gravy.

Mind you, I don't mind being greedy. If we can develop while being good, it makes free agent recruiting that much easier and if Peters is a good GM then he can find us the pieces we need in the draft. After all, the first rounders aren't the only ones who have to show up so if we pick later in a draft there is still talent in that first round, second round, third round, etc. It's just knowing what you need and how it all fits.

Brandon Coleman is going to be very good at LT. He is now up to 50% of the snaps alternating series with Lucas. They are bringing him along nicely by increasing his snaps weekly. He is going to end up being considered a hellofva 3rd round pick.

I agree. And as far as the record goes, there are going to be games this team takes a step back in, it's not likely going to be a non-stop march to the top of the beanstalk this year.

My hope is we WILL see improvement in the defense with a change in style AND in the greater contributions of high picks like Newton and Sainristil getting adjusted to the NFL game and being put in the right spots to succeed while veterans like Luvu, Wagner and Jeremy Chinn step up to make plays.

I really don't understand what we are doing at corner. If Michael Davis looked that bad in the offseason camp and the preseason and coaches thought he didn't warrant any real playing time I don't see why the 29/30 year old made the final roster.

When Forbes went out with the hand injury, Davis needed to step up. The solution shouldn't have been to take Sainristil and move him to the outside where he looked like a duck out of water.

Thats Manny Forbes throwing his 'weight' around sealing the edge against an O-Lineman to allow Chinn to blow it up
