I am still of the mind that this year is still a development year. Everything else is gravy.
The job is to develop Daniels and the other pups. It is to see how the pieces meld and where we need to fine tune the roster rebuild. If by the end of the year, we all agree that Daniels is a franchise Qb, McCaffrey can fill the slot, Coleman can handle left tackle, Sinristal can hold up as the nickel corner or on the outside... this season is a success. Wins are gravy.
Mind you, I don't mind being greedy. If we can develop while being good, it makes free agent recruiting that much easier and if Peters is a good GM then he can find us the pieces we need in the draft. After all, the first rounders aren't the only ones who have to show up so if we pick later in a draft there is still talent in that first round, second round, third round, etc. It's just knowing what you need and how it all fits.
