Official Game Thread Week 3 - WFT at Buffalo

Yeah - I don't know how much frame, size, being 'injury prone', or just plain old bad luck plays into injury histories. I don't know how one could really determine that. I'm just saying we all fall into the trap of 'blaming' or criticizing players for it when in all likelyhood there is not a thing they can do about it. No one was more frustrated with Jordan Reed's history than I was. But bottom line, that's just how it worked out. It's a violent game and injuries are going to happen. Why they seem to happen to some players more than others I can't say.

At least with this bunch, there isn’t the quitting that always happened under Gruden. Rivera is pretty at getting guys to bring it, although the strategy part of his game leaves a bit to be desired.

Yeah - I'm not a big believer in Rivera as an 'in game' head coach. I've seen him do some pretty questionable things with games on the line. Sure - sometimes Riverboat Ron will get one right, but I can never get too comfortable in close games (not that we've had a huge number of them). I think he's a very good man and knows how to build a winning team to an extent, certainly sets a great example for players and values the right qualities in his players. But a great in game coach? Not so much.

You're hysterical.

17 game game season, guys are going to have to sit from time to time.

Thank goodness they have depth at that spot.
He's not sitting, he's hurt. I can explain the difference to you if you aren't too busy calling me hysterical.

I want to give props to everyone in the Game Chat today. That was a hard game to watch and while there's no doubt everyone is frustrated beyond belief this season, everyone kept their cool, and as much as possible their sense of humor. I salute you guys and gals!

We are a mentally disturbed bunch...lol

Three games, and three QB's having their way with the D. Did Mike Nolan possess DelRio's body ? Yes, I have an issue with the turnovers today, they cost us the game for what it's worth, but if the D could have had a stop or two It might have been a different outcome. I expected to see one of " those " games out of Fitz, so Heinicke doing it is a little easier to swallow, as the less seasoned QB. He seems to be playing constrained... ignoring his natural instincts. He's mobile, yet you don't see him rolling out until chased. He plays so well in the hurry up type spread offense, and we see very vanilla play calling. Need to loosen the reigns with him.

I'm very happy I mowed my lawn and tilled my garden instead of watching that.

I am not sure why Scott is calling the plays he does, but he's really hurting us with them. You can't go empty set and across the middle three plays in a row when trying to drive before half. The two scores we had were in spite of his calls.

Taylor Heinicke is the least of our concerns. I almost viewed the turnovers today as ‘incidental’. Not that they weren’t bad and probably doomed us. But we were going to lose this one badly no matter what Heinicke did.

I turned off the game and watched the Ryder Cup. 12 guys with heart. 🇺🇸

Is Hienecke playing the game plan they had got Fitz? I agree he's not running or doing what he does best much at all. I wonder if Scott just hasn't made a game plan for him yet.

Scott Turner sucks,period.

You have a guy at Qb making his third ever start...first road start in a hostile environment and you game plan and play call like he's a ten year vet with playoff experience.

No effort whatsoever to establish the run game with your backs, which would keep Buffalo's O and the defense off the field, while taking some pressure off the Qb.
All off season the talk was of how much the offense was going to run through Gibson, both in pass and run, what a weapon he is and he doesn't even start the game. Imagine the Saints starting a game and not involving Kamara?

Just totally absurd thinking when trying to manage the personnel you have.

Last 6 regular season games-

Seahawks- Loss
Panthers- Loss
Eagles- Win (gifted)
Chargers- Loss
Giants- Win (gifted)
Bills- Loss

Are you not entertained?

I’m not entertained.

"Son,when your Rb is hot, that's when you ignore him and pass,pass,pass......"

As bad as Turner is at playcalling ya have to hand some credit to Ron for approving the game plan. You’d also think there’s an assistant in the booth or sideline that says ‘hey, these plays are stupid let’s pound the rock some’.

Suppose there’s always hope Turner removes his head from his ass at some point. Even McVay finally learned to rely on his rb’s.

Defense is getting worse each week. Every week the announcers bloviate about the four #1 picks on the defensive line. They don't seem to be doing much. Chase Young has 0 sacks through 3 games? If he's being double-teamed then shouldn't somebody else be getting home?

I remain unimpressed.
