Ekeler injury was very disheartening. I didn't like the B-Rob trade when it happened and this is exactly why.

That was the worst game from Daniels that I have seen in a long time. He looked a little dinged up himself at the end. Packers defense is really good and they showed why tonight. They were spying the hell out of him. Their pass rush is also amazing.

Ekeler injury sucks, but having BRob would change nothing. McNichols, CRod, Bill, and random PS RB Edwards will all do what BRob ever could have possibly done.

Weird opinion I have is that Ekeler’s strengths played into and fed Kliff’s worst instincts and habits and the offense may actually improve if he just hands the ball to someone who will get downhill, and also doesn’t have as easy an outlet in the passing game out of the backfield. Kliff needs to get in his bag because the way he was using Ekeler as a crutch was helping stifle the offense. He won’t have that option now but Ekeler in general will be missed and I hope he gets to continue his career

Agree. And I know to some it might sound crazy but I think D. Edwards on their practice squad is better than Robinson.

I agree with you. I think many replacement level RB’s across the league are better for us than BRob to be honest with you, his lack of vision hurt us particularly in this scheme.

The problem with our run gun is that we aren’t utilizing it, not that we’re missing BRob lol. Ekeler was ineffective the way Kliff was utilizing him and Bill had 4 carries. How anyone could be thinking about BRob’s mediocre blind ass right now is funny

Conerly struggled (and they didn’t give him enough help at all which is a bizarre gameplan) but Wylie would have been destroyed as well imo, he struggled with speedy guys with bend and the Packers have two. Those sorts of rushers are why people thought Wylie sucked in the past when he wasn’t being used to his strengths. Anyone on that right side, in isolation, was gonna get beat up today. The plan for handling that rush was ass

Are you saying we should be asking the Packers what being a contender feels like? Because we are not a contender. The final score was beyond illusory. At no point were we any threat. We looked listless, outplayed, outcoached, and out-prepared.

The defense from Sunday was a mirage and the offense was inept. I'm not sure what's going on with JD but he has looked more like a rookie so far this season than he did at almost any point last season. He's making slow reads, holding the ball, and is inaccurate.

I really hope they don't try to sugar coat this absolute beatdown by pointing to the score not being that bad. They need a reckoning.

I would take him over any of the RBs we have on our roster or practice squad. But whatever. I hope Croskey-Merritt is ready to step up. I doesn't seem like Kingsbury puts much emphasis on the running game anyway so it may be a moot point.

Also, I love McLaurin, but damn he better start earning his hefty salary. I thought we were overvaluing him when we paid him and I still do. Ultimately Kingsbury and Daniels need to get him involved more.

Hard to do much when you're only given the ball 4 times.

And yeah, McLaurin is basically invisible right now. Dude is making about $5 million per catch at this rate.

BRob is statistically and demonstrably worse in this scheme than all of the RB’s we currently have on the 53 (except now Ekeler with his single intact Achilles tendon), we have the statistics last year to prove it. On top of that BRob didn’t pass the eye test either, so I really have no idea what you mean. He consistently looked worse than the other guys and was statistically less efficient (don’t forget CRob and McNichols can be compared to him directly, they ran behind the same OL and there’s a big enough sample size to compare. YPC, explosive run rate, etc. They outperformed him noticeably). BRob in another scheme would likely perform better (and did at times under Rivera), but in this scheme his weaknesses outweighed his strengths.

I get that he was a likable guy and a good story so some of us being flippant about his talent is probably not cool to read. But he wasn’t good last year.

But in the end the BRob stuff doesn’t matter anymore, you’re right. Kliff needs to run the ball though, we agree.

Just saying, Andrew Wylie also struggled vs Parsons last year.

One of the big pressures Conerly allowed was him not setting wide because of the chip, but Parsons blew upfield before McNichols could chip him. I view that as more of a fault on coaching than on either player. Thankfully we only play Parsons once, cause that was a Welcome to the NFL game for Conerly.

I can't believe we rolled into 3/4ths of this game thinking our defensive game plan that worked against an awful Giants team would be good here.

The offensive game plan was a travesty. Took way too long to realize the play concepts and personnel just naturally work into what the Packers D wants to face.

SIlver Lining! This wake up call being on a Thursday gives the whole team more time to realize the planned identity needs to adapt.

The Coaching Staff was OUTCOACHED.

Both offensively and defensively we had it handed to us. Both should look in the mirror, own it, and be better moving forward. That was piss poor.
Jayden looked pretty bad for most of the game. The Gameplan did not help him get into a rhythm at all. The running game was non existent as was the intermediate & long passing game.

The D was playing very very soft for much of the game. Not sure what the hell the gameplan was.

The energy was not there for either side of the ball, but it all Starts with Jayden, I thought he would be our difference maker tonight and he was pedestrian. Its ok hes human and he will be better.

Terry has been meh since returning. I think Conerly will be fine, I'd definitlely consider Wylie over Alegretti.
I think they got the RB's wrong from the get go. I think CRod shoulve been active since last week and would have been very useful in a game like this with Bill being the counter and Ekeler doing what he does on 3rd Down.

Bottomline I have not been loving the vibe overall from the COACHING since training camp. Hope they get their stuff together and we can right the ship real quick.
This loss reminds me of the Cowboys game last year in that I remember thinking that dang we got outcoached. Tonight should have been better. We'll see how they respond, very early.

Those blitzes were in fact brutal. The team had no answer today. Good preseason game!

We gave Wylie and Coleman both more help than Conerly got, against elite rushers last year. Unfair to the rookie (and the QB) but he got the trial by fire

As has been mentioned, the 58 yard attempt was a tactical abomination. I had as much chance of making that one as he did. The only way Gay makes 58 yards-worth of FGs is if DQ petitions the league to let him attempt a 30 yarder followed by a 28 yarder. I am also sick of hearing about his guaranteed deal. Eat it and move on.

There need to be 2-3 free agent kickers in house for tryouts this week.

3 of the 4 were on 1st & 10, for 4, 4, and 5 yards.

The last was on 3rd & 1 for 4 yards.

There were zero poor runs.
