Official Game Thread - Week 2 - Commanders @ Packers - TNF

Sure doesn’t look like we started game planning for this opponent weeks ago like Quinn mentioned before the Giants game. I mean obviously he’s telling the truth, I just have no idea what they possibly worked on bc they’re playing like they’ve never seen the Packers before

Definitely being outcoached. Honestly, going into this year, I felt in the Eagles our coaching got a bit exposed, and that's tough because I don't like Sririanni, but I have come around to realizing he isn't a bad coach. Not saying our coaches are bad, but from what I have seen, against proven good coaches we tend to have it a lot tougher. I know LaFleur makes some head scratchers sometimes, but sometimes he calls a really good game. Looks like today is one of the bad days to play the Packers.
 
Tired of these coaches talking a big game when they put this type of product on the field

Like I said earlier, not reading too much into this. Thursday night on the road is always rough. Frankly, I HATE TNF. It's such an obvious cash grab for the NFL, but comes at the cost of the players. Disrupts their routine, prevents recovery. Just imo a bad idea. Same thing with a 17th game, every extra game is more snaps and more snaps means shorter careers.

Also, we are not tackling the RB at the line like last week. Like we're getting in the vicinity but not getting home. Jacobs is def better than the Giant rbs tho so its somewhat understandable.

Chinn isn’t very good, and sucks in coverage. Harris is similarly talented at worst, that’s not one of our top 10 issues right now imo
 
Good stop there. 17-3. Need to get points on the board. Hopefully Kliff has been looking at what hasn't worked.
 
Hard to evaluate mid way through second game of the season, but I think it is time for good contract talks with Tunsel- we will wait until the end of the season for Lattimore
 
Terry and his agent seem to think his the best Wr in the NFL. From what I can see (granted its limited), he isn't exploting the GB pedestrian CBs.

But clearly the problem is the O line more than anything.

They have controlled the LoS, that could have been the difference but it has gone the other way instead. You are right. O needs to apply some pressure here, can't win many games when you start the field in the opponent's side and put 0. Can't win many games putting 3 on the board through 2.5 quarters. Will have to turn all of that around.

Coaching is extremely important in this league, but a lot of good coaches spend a lot of years hiding behind excellent talent. We were scrappy last year and the coaching maximized what we had, so we noticed. But I don’t think the staff is *special* so much as it’s professional. We need more talent or games like this against well-built, deep, talented playoff contenders will expose us when everything doesn’t go right for us. Nothing is going right tonight so we look both untalented and poorly coached. Every week won’t be like this but we need more speed and talent on the field if we want our good coaches to look like great coaches and geniuses more often. Otherwise it’ll only happen when Jayden is transcendent

Everything went right for us last year and we were aggressive when it mattered, and Daniels can be a stud which can hide a lot when guys make plays. But he can’t always be hot every week and we need to improve the roster mid and long term if we want to do anything. A coaching advantage isn’t going to appear and save us most weeks and the QB can’t carry it all

The correct take on the institution of TNF
 
Historically great on 4th down last year but 0 attempts thus far this year. I'm not saying they should have gone for it there, but I'd love to see them go down swinging; especially since everything they've done up to this point has fizzled.
