Official Game Thread - Week 2 - Commanders @ Packers - TNF

I will feel a lot better if we can stop the run like we did last week win or lose. Stopping it against NY is one thing if we can stop GB we will be a tough out for anybody
 
I don't know about stopping GBs run game, but they sure as shit won't stop ours. Kenny Clark is a great nose and as good as Parsons is against the pass, he sucks against the run. They have a few banged up LBers too. I think the short week benefits us a bit.

Quinn said we were looking ahead to this game. No chance the Pack was overlooking the Lions to start the year.

Our secondary is better than their WOs too.
 
I dont understand the hate for Heinickie, from what I have seen the same people that disslike him are the ones that wanted Wentz to start. Guy played the game the right way. Threw for 326 yards in the playoffs. Just admit your wrong and move on. :)

There's a reason he was released by the Chargers and no one has signed him yet. He wasn't, and isn't, good. He was prime Ashburn Syndrome--anyone who looks even remotely competent here gets lauded because we're used to complete dysfunction and ineptitude.

Wrong thread? What does this have to do with Commanders/Packers?
 
I think I can speak for most in that we really didn’t hate Heinicke, we hated the Heinicke hype by many in our fanbase. Over on ES, there would be weekly litigation with pages and pages of screenshots of folks defending his hospital balls. We had folks saying he should have been signed long term after the Tampa playoff game for $10-$15M per season. It was bizzaro world. His story was always cool, the hype and the debate about him was nauseating.

That said, those days are thankfully very long gone. Pinch me and wake me up. The whole world will be tuning in to watch our QB, and not because he’s a Rudy like story, but because he’s actually damn good.
 
This game is a major toss up--I don't know what to make of our defense, since the Giants offense is utterly, and joyfully, putrid. I love our OL--I think they played great against a strong front 4 from the Giants. I think the Giants DL is better, at least on paper, but they did shut down the Lions. I think Love is good for a pick--he should have thrown two against the Lions. I worry about stopping Jacobs--I am not sold on our run-D. Our secondary should match up well with their receivers--likewise, I think our receivers match up well with their secondary.

But given this is a short week, on the road, and Love has a history of performing well on Thursday nights, I'll go Packers, 27-24

I think this would be a great game to have C Rod active. As much as I supported the B Rob trade, this is the kind of game where he would have shined - vs. a team that is light up the middle at NT and LB. I would swap out McNichols for C Rod in a heartbeat in this matchup.
 
Bold prediction-we run all over their defense for 250+ yards and control the time of possession 35/25 or better on the way to a 7-10 point win.

Tired of seeing posts on social media acting like if we won it would be some major upset. We're the better team. Now let's go prove it.

Mcnicols is great on teams though. That's the issue.

Because they're a very good team, it's a short week, and it's away. We're good too, but if our offense is rusty again like it was on Sunday then it's not going to work out like it did against the Giants.
 
Actually If I had to pick one player whose been a surprise it might be Will Harris. He's had a big camp supposedly and was really good against the Giants.

Keim talked about Wagner referencing how much better the communication is on the field this year. And several have referenced Harris on that front.

Considering the Lions couldn't run a lick against GB it would be quite a statement if they run it down GB's throat. It would add to the early Croskey-Merritt legend vibes.
