Del Rio against any half decent play caller is like a Chutes and Ladders novice against a chess grandmaster.

Okay, apologies to Del Rio though his first halves are too often awful and we almost gave the game away.

I stick by my assertion that if Howell had a line this team might be dangerous.

Victory Pour!
I'll take it!!!

Howell hits ten different receivers today. Hell of a game from the kid. When he has time to throw the ball look out.

I’m a little pissed Wilson got that Hail Mary at the end. He doesn’t deserve the final stat line. He played like utter drek in the second half.

Yeah, every game is going to be frustrating at times. It's the nature of competition. It's why we watch the whole game. The other guys get paid to play too. And Payton has always been one of those guys who scripts his first 15 plays and that's why they work so well. He was schooling the defense to start the game. But when the defense adjust and started making plays, he had no answer.

As for Howell, you are correct. He has the arm, he has the weapons, he has the mobility, and he has the smarts. Get that man some protection.

This was a really small moment, but I think a really important one. Wilson escaped the pocket and ran for a first down. When the defenders were upon him he slid. Instead of crashing into him the nearest defender hurdled over him. The other pulled up.

How easily they could have crashed into him and got flagged for a personal foul. That heads up hurdle made me pretty happy. I think it's the same reason why in the other thread I pointed out Howell's willingness to slide. Making the smart play is sometimes avoiding the stupid play that costs you.

The NFL needs to handle extreme fouls like the one committed against Logan Thomas yesterday the same way MLS does.

The player isn't just ejected. His team has to play a man short for the rest of the game. No subbing for an ejected player allowed. Do that, and you'll see these type of shots greatly reduced.

That cheap shot could very well have cost the Broncos the game.

We probably don't go for two there if we don't get the ball at the one. Then we are only up by 7 at the end.

I like this.

Two weeks in a row defenses targeted our players with malicious, unnecessary hits. The one on Howell out of bounds and the one on Thomas. Hard hits are a reality in football. Dirty play doesn't have to be.
