Official Game Thread - Week 17 - Falcons @ Commanders - SNF

He certainly didn't look injured or show any signs of pain immediately after the play.
Oh 100% agree but adrenaline is a helluva drug. My kid has been trying to jump and touch the ceiling for a month or so. Last night after the game?

He could suddenly jump ~2 inches higher and was touching it over and over. This morning? He's back to not being able to. It's hilarious. True story - I taught him about adrenaline last night.

Back to the thread topic... One thing I really love about Kliff Kingsbury - he knows better than anyone else what he has in Jayden Daniels. In every scenario where we absolutely had to have a drive to win a game, Kingsbury has leaned into Jayden's gifts, letting him loose to do the magic things he can do. He could try to protect him, shield him from blame should things go awry, recognize he's a rookie and it's unfair to put it all on Daniels shoulders in giant moments.

But he doesn't do any one of those things. He leans in, doubles down, and says 'Go do your thing for us Jayden'. Because he knows he has something special under center, the most important aspect of which is, a competitive fire that we haven't seen in a player since Sean Taylor was patrolling the middle.

That overtime drive was the stuff of legends. Atlanta had all of the momentum. Then we won the coin toss. Atlanta never had a chance.

Daniels is that good. And kudos to Kingsbury for putting all of his belief in the young guy.

That was a Mahomes like comeback win for Jayden.

After the 4 game winning streak I guess Bo Nix is now solidly down at #2 for ROY.

JD has ROY locked up. He could rest in the last game and it shouldn't matter.
Id actually put Brock Bowers at #2. He has had a very special rookie year and broke the 1961 record held by Mike Ditka.
and Nix at #3.

Yeah the OROY race is over. Nix has played really well down the stretch, but he just can't beat out JD. Bowers would win in most other years, but QB is a more important position and JD and Nix have both have great rookie seasons.

Hopefully Collinsworth doesn’t have a vote for ROY, or he will be voting for Penix. Even after what Daniels did last night, he still couldn’t stop talking about Penix after the game. He made a few good throws but missed a lot of throws and threw some into traffic where if it wasn’t this secondary, would have ended in a pick. Daniels was everything last night just as he has been most of the year.

The coaches have tried both and like neither which is why they tried to go out and get Lattimore. But he can’t stay on the field

I think Davis and BSJ are both the same guy: not good enough and a walking penalty waiting to happen.

David had been playing a bit better. For a while if there was ever a bad play on defense, BSJ was always right in the middle of it somehow.

I don’t get worked up about it. Neither should be in the role they are in. The only reason they are is because Ron screwed up the roster so badly Peters couldn’t fix all of it in one season
all fair, but I see potential in BSJ to develop into a better backup. Davis just moves weird and I don't see any redeeming athletic trait. whatever. we're in and everything is gravy from here on out. hail!

I hope last night helped Harris realize the new stadium must have grass. If JD's bent over ankle tackle happened on turf, I'm afraid he's cooked.

let's not be bears fans about this. they have moved up to my second most hated fanbase.

Still full of piss and vinegar after a win. Some people never fail to deliver.

I haven't watched the broadcast yet, but will do so later today after it airs on NFL network.
I'm guessing that Collinsworth was talking up the NFL script....

I love both you guys :) My question to DP is simple. When are you gonna let it go and get on the bus with the rest of us? Do they have to win a Super Bowl first? I don't really understand it any more. It's a completely different franchise. We have a franchise QB. It's an odd time to refuse to believe.
Last night helped a lot.

Don’t understand how pointing out before the game that this was a big spot where teams of the past fell flat was offensive but to each his own I guess?
I mean, everyone in chat thought the same thing when PI was called and Atl lined up to kick the fg: Here we go again!
But they missed and this time, the Skins finally took advantage.

That’s definitely progress.

He’s always over the top talking about whoever is playing. Early in the game, he was gushing over missed throws by Penix. It was over the top and didn’t match the performance Penix had. Robinson was the reason the Falcons had the lead and yes he was over the moon for him too, but he was awesome and deserved the praise. Him gushing over the TD drive was fine because Penix delivered in the clutch.

He also gushed and was over the top about about Daniels but he was delivering all game long.

The issue for me was that Daniels was the major reason this team won. They put it in his hands all night and he came through. Penix was relying on Robinson early, which was the correct game plan. He had some good throws late and he delivered on their TD drive. But even after the game, after Daniels was pretty much a one man show in OT, Collinsworth talked like they both played the same and that just wasn’t true.

Yeah...he is insanely annoying.

Looking over the snap counts from last night-

Ben Sinnott played in only 8 of the 83 offensive snaps. I believe that is his lowest participation of the season.
