This is a good breakdown from gruden on the matchup this week.

Allen, questionable. It may be best to play him against Dallas rather than risk him this Sunday on a muddy, wet field just coming back from injury.

I think there's a good chance. He's had a couple of weeks to get up to speed. With Dyami out, Osborne can at least step up to that fourth/fifth receiver spot. OTOH, the fact that we signed another receiving vet this week may mean that Osborne has not been wowing them in practice.
 
Allen may be listed as Questionable on the injury report but listening to both he and Quinn today I fully expect him to play.

These desperate times call for desperate measures.... we need Anthony Mix.
 
Hope that the Commanders really will win these next couple of games.
 
This game may be the 'statement' game of the season and here's why I think so...

1. Washington is the better team. I really think the Commanders are the more talented team. We have a legit rookie star under center, an overachieving defense, and our coaching staff is one of the best and most experienced in the league, especially compared to the Falcons. On paper, there's no way we should lose this game.

2. QB. Just to dive in a little deeper, Penix may turn out to be a good QB. He's definitely physically gifted. But he's yet to throw an NFL touchdown and is just getting his feet under him as a potential NFL starter. Jayden Daniels is light years beyond him in terms of talent and experience (already).

3. Yes - this game matters to both teams. But Washington is playing at home, coming off what most would call a stunning gutsy come-from-behind upset of the Eagles. The NFC East title could still be at stake should Dallas surprise Philadelphia (something that is not that far-fetched with Kenny Pickett starting for Jalen Hurts). And Washington can clinch a playoff spot and not have to go into Dallas as a 'must win' final game.

So it's going to be a 'statement' game. Either Washington comes in and dominates the Falcons to seize control of their own destiny, or they lay an egg in a huge moment on National TV Sunday Night, and throw everything into doubt. I have to believe it's going to be the first scenario Sunday night or this team isn't who I've come to believe they are.
 
Great stuff from Jon Gruden... One factor Gruden mentions I haven't heard much on - the Falcons fired Dan Quinn despite him taking that team to a Super Bowl. He's got to be especially motivated in this one.

 
So I’m visiting family in India. It’s 5:15pm on Saturday here. Through the magic of time zones and flights, I will leave our flat here at 2:50am Sunday Morning local time and land 2:45 pm East coast time with plenty of time to relax a bit and find the most comfortable place on my couch to watch the game.

I’m not sure why this amuses me. But it does. Time zones are funny things.

Which part(s) of India are your family from? My father's family are from the Punjab, but I don't have strong ties there as the parts of the family I am close to are all UK-based.
