Official Game Thread - Week 17 - Christmas Edition - Cowboys @ Commanders

If you guys want to talk Aaron Rodgers, go find a thread remotely related to that topic please, or start one :)

Fully expect a loss, not to be negative but with our top 2 QBs out? It is what it is. :(

Looking at the standings we need to lose these last 2 games and at least hope that the Browns win one more so we can move up to #6.

That win over the Giants was costly. Could have resulted in the loss of at least 2 draft slots.

The truth is that whatever Doc Walker and Brian Mitchell want to say about the values of competing, the truth is after the season is over no one is going to care about anything except the draft and free agency for a team that finishes 4-13, etc.

I still remember the 2019 season when Washington could have had the #1 overall pick and taken Burrow, but we managed to beat the Dolphins 17-16 and Cincinnati lost out to get the pick.

Doc and Brian were all happy about the win, but looking back on it now - who wouldn't rather have Burrow over Chase Young or Jeffrey Okudah?

Even if Cleveland wins 1 and we lose out that doesn’t necessarily result in us moving up a spot. Cleveland currently has a lower SOS.

The Jets, Titans, Cardinals winning 1 would move us up if we lose out.

Yep, it was one of the 3 win teams closest to us with a higher SOS. I forgot which one.

But all the talk in media about playing out the string and 'showing something' to me is a bit of a joke with signing quarterbacks off the street who were working with a suit and tie on last week, etc.

The Jets, Titans, and Cardinals all have a significantly higher SOS than us. For Christmas I don’t want much but all 3 winning a game would be nice. 🤣

"Sometimes we need to lose the small battles in order to win the war."

Successful leaders must know which battles are worth fighting and be willing to forgo minor victories to preserve resources and focus on larger objectives.

Washington has only won one game this year that Daniels didn't play in.

Tank commander Josh Johnson, reporting for duty 🫡

Well, I guess the team has settled fhe issue of "to tank or not to tank" by starting Johnson. The only thing he could do to get more tanky is change his last name to Rommel.
My condolences in advance to any of you that will watch this game. I feel especially sorry for anyone that spent money on a ticket.

As opposed to Driskel or Hartman? 🤷🏻‍♂️
Of the three, only Driskel could conceivably get the win. I could start on place of either Johnson or Sam with the Good Hair and there would be no statistical difference.

None, (including you 🙂) would. Unless Dallas sits their starters we are going to get boatraced.

Sam Hartman must feel pretty bad knowing he will never play a meaningful game. I don't know if I could in good conscious even show up. But money probably trumps all else.

There are below average accountants who show up and make a career of it every day. Hackjob barbers who make their rent and dudes who can’t hang vinyl siding straight but do it for 40 years. Someone is always at the bottom of their field, and in the NFL you have to be a top 1% person at the position to even have the honor of being considered “bad”. No shame in it.
