Official Game Thread - Week 14 - Commanders @ Vikings

It'll clear up in time, Riggo.

My personal stance is that the season has been disappointing for all of us and we have no shot at the playoffs but at the end of the day, only one team wins the SB and I think in pretty much every single supporters mind, we all feel like even with the best case scenario, our chance to legitimately win the SB is next season.

Therefore, if you never really thought that we would win it all this season, what is the difference between finishing our season at the end of the regular season or another game or 2? We weren't going to win it alll anyways so either way you would pretty much be playing Jayden for nothing so that's my reason that he should still play now.

We still have a 3rd of the season left, full O-line, 3wr, and Ertz with Jayden for the first time all season along with DQ running the defense. We have 5 games to really see what we look like and can judge the roster so we can know what to do in the offseason. Do we resign Deebo, get Ayuik, or draft someone, etc. You can get a great gauge of that mow

Jayden ended the presser perfectly. When asked about resting to be healthy, he replied who said that he still won't end the season healthy. Then he said he loved the game and before he was getting paid, he was playing it for free because of his passion for it but he ended it by saying:

"For me, I'm a young guy, still trying to develop, still trying to learn, so these games are critical".

Lotta stuff coming out of MIN about veteran players being annoyed that they’ve gotta dumb down the playbook for JJ to run it

Wow, I wouldn't play him. I'm a little surprised, but mostly disappointed in DQ.

Good news: #5 is back

Bad news: Kliff's playbook of designed QB runs is wide the hell open.

I really like KK a lot - probably more than 90% of this fanbase does. But he does put his QBs at risk frequently. I get it, from an 'in game' vantage point, maximizing the use of mobile QBs like Jayden and Mariota gives you a better chance to win. But from an org/roster standpoint, it is a very risky approach.

Same.

I'm not saying to not ever run #5 but he needs to be more judicious with his runs.
To me it just seems like when 5 is in there, Kliff would rather have him run instead of a back and when you grow up under the football gospel of Joe Gibbs where he placed a premium on protecting the QB.....it just rubs me the wrong way.

Please don't let this guy pull a "Daniel Jones (NYG Version)" on WAS...
Could definitely see him killing us with his legs, but he is not a good passer. He'll probably go on IR again when he has to throw more than 20 times again lol.

"BUT HE'S A WINNER!!!"

Said it all along, he's a poor man's version of Daniel Jones. Won't be a starter for much longer.

It's crazy but we still aren't eliminated yet. We have to win out, Philly has to lose out, Dallas has to lose 3 of 4. Dallas plays us and a couple of tough games but those are at home. Philly plays us twice, at lac and Buffalo but they also play the Raiders in Philly so I don't see them losing that.

Technically though, we are still alive and if we win with Philly losing at the Chargers then we are alive for one more week. We basically have no chance but it's still a little fun watching Jayden, with our weapons, and our rivals with some tough enough games to make it interesting

I gotta say, I’m quite conflicted - I badly want the high draft pick(s), but I also want confirmation that injuries are what sunk us on offense, and further affirmation that our defensive roster isn’t quite the dumpster fire Whitt made it seem.

I also hate getting swept by division rivals (wrong thread for this point, but still).

You aren’t alone in this.

But I really don’t get it. There are 5 games left and by technicality they aren’t eliminated from the playoffs.

If you have to bubble wrap a guy with 5 games left in a season, particularly after the rest of the gang is back healthy as well, then you have bigger issues to worry about. Beyond that, good luck explaining to him and the rest of the team that he’s being put on ice for 2026.

Feels weird to have a game at 1:00. We haven't had one since early October.
