Official Game Thread - Week 13 - Titans @ Commanders

If a 42-19 win can be ugly, this was it. No major injuries and on to the next one. Too bad they cut McManus before all the facts were in, but given the culture and ethical record of the prior regime, I guess they kind of had to do it. Hopefully there will be a kicking tryout this week.

McManus was an 81.6% career percentage kicker. Seibert was still better than him this year.

For New Orleans/Washington the cheapest available lowers are $180 for EZ and $254 for SL. That stadium is apparently a palace now though after the recent remodel for the upcoming SB.
Bought 4 about three weeks ago for $270 a piece, lower level, 14th row, 10-15 yard line. That’s with all fees. Guys weekend, can’t wait!

I'm not saying that McManus is Justin Tucker, but he has a bigger leg than Seibert. Seibert (pre-injury) was money on XPs and shorter kicks but is unable to hit from 50+ Also, if Seibert was the better option, why didn't they sign him instead of McManus in the first place?

Thank God Will Levis sucks, because there were a lot of wide open guys downfield he just completely missed.
No doubt.
In related news, I'm starting to get a gnawing feeling in my stomach that Lattimore will never get on the field this season and will be waived with an injury settlement in the offseason. Please tell me I'm wrong.
That also gets me thinking about just how damn good Joey Porter Jr. would look in burgundy and gold. Thanks, Ron....

Barkley can't keep this up for years, and maybe not for even another year. The wear and tear in the modern NFL is too great. Look at what happens to backs after 1500 yard seasons these days. The cumulative punishment is too great with the size and speed of modern defenders. One of many reasons that Emmitt Smith's record will never fall. Even getting to 12K will be extremely difficult. I'm also not even factoring in the possibility of a catastrophic injury.

Right now. I would be surprised if he can do something similar next year, let alone for multiple upcoming years.
He is a big guy, but that is also a lot of wear and tear on ligaments to move that much mass repetitively and take hits, even if they aren't bonecrushing shots.

I always remember an interview with Marshall Faulk years ago. Faulk was slippery and didn't take too many big shots either. A reporter asked him how many times he needed to be hit in a season before he really felt it. His reply, "once". Later in the interview I think he compared each hit to being in a car accident.

Joe Schoen thought that he wasn’t all that important, and very soon he will be looking for another job.

Yep. Maybe Danny Dimes can put in a good word with the Vikes for him. In his defense, there's no way that Barkley would have been anywhere near as dominant with NYG this year as he has been with Philthy.

No doubt.

Nah, I don't see that happening, if his injury was that bad he never would have been signed off on by our doctors for the trade.
They're just being extra cautious, it seems to be this front offices m.o. so far.
I do worry about his recent injury history though and the fact that he had bad enough hamstring problems in college that he ended up getting surgery because of it.

He'll see the field for us but I do worry about the possibility that he'll have an injury problem that lingers for the rest of his career.
