hes not learning anything by 3 and outs. I was kind of surprised to see trainers and Jayden nursing those ribs still on the sideline Thursday. Its a Lingerer

In principle I agree. However - we don't know a) how 'hurt' Daniels really is, and b) whether a healthy Mariota would have given us a better chance at winning than a dinged JD.

The coaches might though.

I think you have to trust that if Mariota gave us a better chance to win, he'd have been out there.
 
That intercostal rib injury he has - it may not heal this season. Without a significant break, I'm talking a month or so, it's very hard to 'heal' that kind of injury and continue playing and taking hits. Just the reality of it.

100%. Anyone questioning or impatient with the progress has never had a rib injury. Jayden is one tough SOB. His pain tolerance and his drive to both compete and to fight with and for his teammates deserves admiration. I doubt he will be 100% until next season. That said- even he is willing to play it is ultimately up to the organization to determine if doing so is a detriment to the cause.
