Official Game Thread - Week 10 - @ Seahawks

I really don’t have a problem with referees throwing a roughing the passer flag when they think they see it in real time. What I continue to have a major problem with is that they have put that in the category of calls that can’t be reviewed from upstairs. Would’ve been so easy for the league overwatch to radio down to the referee on that play that the hit was fine. Then pick up the flag, make the announcement and move on.

Stop making excuses, moonwalking and obfuscating and fix it, NFL.

I am going to be paying particular attention to our ability to stay on the field this weekend on offense. I feel like if Seattle gets us into an ugly three and out pattern, the game could get away from us pretty quickly and put us in a chasing position. Sustaining drives and finding points of any type will give us a fighting chance come the last few minutes of the fourth quarter I believe. We have done particularly well on third down the last couple weeks, converting on a combined 55 percent in those situations. That is 5 percent more than the Bills and Eagles, who lead the league in that category on the season with a 50 percent rate. Keep building on that and the offense will start having a vibe to it as we head towards December.

Worth noting … best I can tell, trading away two of the biggest name players on the team has had essentially zero impact on the expectations for the season.

I mean, not to be unkind, but is that even a loss?

Why have they not IR-ed Cole Turner for God's sake? Guy has been pretty much unable to play the entire season.

Is he hurt or they just don’t want to activate him?

Yeah, it sounds like he's a healthy scratch. So it's not about availability. I'm not sure that makes me feel better lol. I think he's our typical draft pick, has some ability, but ultimately is nothing special.

Turner played 4 plays last week. I never noticed him. Maybe is was ST?

JDR should have been fired after the Chicago game. Then the NY game. And of course, after today. But Ron won't do it, and it's amazing because being loyal to his friend who is doing such a poor job, will cost him his job too.

It's weird. The D played their best game of the year. At the same time, I don't think they once stopped or slowed down Seattle in the second half. When I saw 52 seconds left on the clock after we tied the game, I worried there was too much time left. Again, the Seahawks made it look easy to get into field goal range. It's not hard to blame the refs for some awful calls, but we also had enough self inflicted wounds to lose the game and I think we did lose the game.

We need to find a way to run the ball more effectively (will that require waiting for the offseason for a better line or different playcaller?)
We need to find a way to pressure the QB or when playing coverage actually cover the receivers. Too many wide open receivers running free for easy big plays.
We need to force a punt.
We need Tress way not to have to be Spider-Man as a holder.

The D played their best game of the year?
For real. There was play on replay where there were 3 LBs on the field and none of them were covering anybody.

That final drive was everything. They folded faster than Superman on laundry day.

They surrendered 498 yards and 27 first downs.

And, at least it doesn’t matter who is on the field…equal opportunity explosive play giving group.
