I am really sick and tired of losing to the Seahawks. Whether it's during the playoffs going back a decade plus or during the regular season.

After getting blown out by the Ravens last week Seattle is going to rebound with a strong game at home.

I hope Ron's group doesn't pull the 'hot one week, cold the next' type approach we have seen or this is another loss in the making.

This team needs to get off the plane and play a quality first quarter to stay in this game and get to 5-5.

They are tough in that damn stadium - one of the most hostile places in the NFL. Even this season where they are hardly one of the better Seattle squads, they dropped their home opener but have not lost at home since.

We will have our work cut out for us.

Seattle at home, refs will also be in full effect I'd wager. Not feeling real good about this one.

I might feel a little better if Seattle was not coming off an embarrassing loss.

We haven't beaten anyone yet this year that currently has a winning record. Take that with Seattle at home and I'm not that confident.

This is a game I am really interested in, and one that will serve as a real measuring stick for Sam Howell.

a) Seattle is a really tough place to play in.

b) Statistically speaking, he is going up against a really strong defensive secondary that will put him to the test. Take a look at their CBs and how they measure up compared to the 114 at their position according to PFF:

Devon Witherspoon - 13th out of 114 in 2023
Michael Jackson - 24th out of 114
Tre Brown - 16th out of 114
Tariq Woolen - 61st out of 114

On the surface, this really appears like it can be one of those contests where if Sam continues to play strong, he can really make a case for himself in regards to him being the unquestioned starter for the next several years in Washington.

I have zero confidence in our defense to be able to hold back the Seahawks. Have to expect a loss regardless of how well Howell plays.

But Howell’s showing at this point with due respect to Doc Walker’s ‘we must win every game’ IS the outcome most on the line for Washington.

We will also see if Larsen and Paul are really that much better than Gates and Charles, who were awful to start the season.

Washington has to blitz Geno Smith and force turnovers. This unit can't afford to rush 4 and drop 7 into coverage against these receivers.

Del Rio doesn't often come up with a game plan that surprises or stymies the opponent so I am not confident the defense will come out withthe aggressive mindset that seems warranted in this matchup.

Agreed, BD. Had the same take in the podcast last night.

I watched Baltimore harass Geno all day on Sunday, and it essentially shut the Seattle offense down. Of course Baltimore blitzes coming off the bus, starting in preseason, so that's no surprise. But it was abundantly clear Geno is just a guy when pressued. Unfortunately, JDR doesn't attack offenses that way. Maybe he really can't with our personnel, but I'm not sure he would anyway. Not his DNA. I suspect we'll sit back in cover two, try to keep everything in front of us, and make Seattle drive the length of the field, trying to hold them to FG's and/or hope for mistakes.

I'm thinking if we can hold them under 23 or 24, we have a fighter's chance.

JDR got a tad salty about the officiating in last week’s game in his presser today and I was glad to see it. He will probably get a bill from the league as a result. God forbid you criticize the leagues beloved zebras.

I’m willing to pay the postage for his remittance.

What a strange flex on the Seahawks part

A poor attempt at damage control by the @NFL in evidence.
