Official Game Thread - Week 10 - Lions @ Commanders

Ugly first half. Plenty of passion, zero discipline. Injuries and penalties, same story every week.

Richie Petitbon is probably damn near 90 by now. He could show up in Ashburn the Wednesday before our weekend game and have this D better prepared and playing more effectively than this Whitt-led (or is it witless) D we have now. It's just pathetic

Was it 2023 when Allen punched Payne?

When Rivera told us that he didn't even adress the team at halftime. Still not nearly as bad as this defense. Not even close to this pathetic and he didn't even show up and probably said nothing of note for years. This is beyond even post cancer not going to do a thing Ron Rivera.

I just really don't buy the "lack of personnel" argument for Whitt when the defense is as undisciplined as it is. Lack of discipline is a coaching thing, and how much of the team sucking is because of the poor coaching? If they were disciplined and sucked, okay, maybe it's a talent thing, but they suck AND make mistakes constantly.

I really kinda just want Whitt gone. Go see if Wade Phillips can come in for half a year.

We have important young players on defense we need to not screw up development of. I have 0 trust Whitt can develop Sainristil/Amos/Magee/etc.

It’s a complete disgrace. This is the type of defensive performance that should result in a firing. It’s one thing to have a bunch of injuries, it’s another to have players who aren’t trying. I have a hard time believing that professional athletes can play this poorly. Did you see that hole that Gibbs just ran through?

OMG, was this the easiest money in the world or what?

I am being tortured, I'm pretty sure watching this right now is a violation of the Geneva Convention.

Wait the penalty wasn't on us on that long pass? Incredible.

Offense looks competent actually, just not good enough to make up for this horrible defense.

Clearly this game means a lot to the Lions, I wish we could match that energy.

Deebo doesn't even try to get into the endzone.

Detroit is concerned about our returner, keep kicking out of bounds. Getting ball at 25 seems kind of a bad rule.
Its on purpose. Kick out of bounds puts the ball 25 yards from the place of the kick. After the personal foul, that is the 25. A touchback would be at the 35.

Wow. points. Way too late but we got a TD, after Deebo tried hard to run out of bounds earlier.
