Official Game Thread - Week 10 - Lions @ Commanders

It's just bizarre how open other teams' receivers always seem to be. I don't remember the last time I said, "good coverage but that was just a great catch" when watching Commanders on D.
 
They're gonna drop 50 on us.

Last week, Nicki said that's the kinda game that gets people fired. We all know Whitt is a position coach/assistant, not a coordinator. Hopefully that experiment ends immediately after the season, since DQ has apparently said no in season coaching changes.
 
Wagner is so slow that he ended up tackling Mikey on that play. Bad players or not, the whole design of the defensive system is trash. We are always literally giving the offense yards. Lining up outside, then the inside is wide open or vice versa. Just play straight up because our help is never there. It's either poorly designed or our players are free styling. Either way it's on coaching

They need to get Schwartz from Cleveland or someone just as good. No NFL defense should be this pathetic.
 
For clarity’s sake, I meant this might be the worst defensive performance over the course of a season that I can remember. Even Haslett would sell out every 3 games or so, get crazy aggressive and pull the rabbit out of the hat. Whitt literally cannot get a stop.

Im probably going to catch some hell with this post, while Whitt deserves the criticism hes getting and needs to be fired ASAP, Peters doesn't get a free pass either. This is the team and defense him and his defensive minded head coach put together the last two off seasons

If Whitt isn't gone after this game, Quinn needs to be gone, taking Whitt with him. Hard decisions need to be made and you can't be friendly about it.
 
Quinn in Atlanta, like Rivera in Carolina, got fired under similar circumstances.

No doubt this defense is talent deficient. But when your unit is this bad all of the time, and can never dial anything up to stifle a team even temporarily, you gotta go.
